Fantasy Hockey Scouts: Daily Dosage - Nov 9th, 2009

Dosage Express
Stastny gets the stats... Eller might stick around... A-Mac comes back... have you seen the fight helmet?

Daily Diarrhea

Stastny, paulAfter two points last night Paul Stastny continues to roll on his hot streak... 12 points in his last 10 games.  The Avs are playing over their heads but he's not.  If he can stay healthy his first 80 point season looks in the cards.

Dustin Penner picked up a 1+1=2 night after three pointless affairs.  Penner is far from a lock to keep his hot start going (21 points in 17 games) so keep an eye on his production to maximize your results.

Sounds like the Blues won't be sending Lars Eller back to the AHL right away.  It was expected that once A-Mac came back (see below) Eller would be going down.  We guess the Blues liked what they saw out of the Dane.  He has potential, but he won't be helping many fantasy teams... at least this year.

Keith Tkachuk was out of the lineup last night but it was just a rest day so nothing to worry about.

Injury Updates (see our Injury Updates page for a consolidated list of injuries):

Mcdonald, andyAndy Macdonald returned to action last night and played over 20 minutes and picked up a goal.  Last year he scored at a point-a-game pace so make sure you get him back in your lineup.

Puck Daddy's Dmitry Chesnokov asked Alex Ovechkin about his injuries in an interview to which The Great 8 responded with "I am better.  But I will miss 4-5 weeks".  Normally we're not into the rumours game but Ovie is a special case.  The Caps are denying the report and are saying they are expecting him back in less than two weeks.

We got some info on Cam Ward's injury for you.  It's a lacerated thigh muscle and he'll be out of action for 3-4 weeks.  Sounds like the Cane's are not keen on bringing up Justin Peters and will instead look for help via free agency or a trade.

Sedin, danielDaniel Sedin practiced yesterday and is just about ready to return.  Roberto Luongo missed practice but it was due to an illness not his injured rib.  Both could play Tuesday but later in the week would be a safer bet.  Get ready to get these guys in your lineup. [more]

Daily Distraction

What's distracting us today?  If you weren't watching HNIC on Saturday night you need to check out the Hotstove.  Even if it's just to see Pierre Lebrun wearing the prototype of the 'fight helmet' (skip ahead to 1:30 if you're in a hurry):
