With Khabby aging, drinking, and gernerally being terrible (getting torched in his last two games) I've recently turned my attention to Dubnyk. He has size and was a first round pick so there must be some talent there, is this guy the future number one in Edmonton? The oliers are bound to be one of the top teams in the league eventually with all this young talent plus another top pick this year (ala pittsburg, washington, chicago) aren't they? And by the time that happen's Khabby will be out of the league (if not sooner, like this year) so someone has to assume that vaulble role of starting goalie on one of the leagues top teams Is that guy going to be be Dubnyk? They must like him a little at least as the risked lossing JD on waivers to keep him. The prospect pool is pretty deep with Roy being the only other tending in the system that looks like he has a chance to be a number one, and he is a ways away yet.
I must confess I haven;t seen Dubnyk play that much though so I'm looking for some insight on him from someone who has. I'd also like a concensus on whether he, Khabby, Roy, or a FA are the oilers starting tender next year. He seems like he MIGHT be a great guy to stash on your bench in the hopes that he's there go to guy when this team starts to hit its stride.
