You can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him... and we're just talking about his hair

HEADS UP: Our weekly 'Fantasy Five' feature is up over at HockeyDraft.ca... I think we got it right this week, adding Andy McDonald and booting Travis Zajac.

REMINDER: Join us for our live blog today, starting at noon EST... we'll be watching hockey & talking fantasy for as long as our eyes & fingers can function.

Since we're big on announcements today... we've finished updating our Crease Conflicts page, so it's fully operational, check it out if you need the latest on any goalie battles.

Kevin Shattenkirk with another goal last night and the rookie has 3+3=6 during a five game point streak... he looked like he's playing with a lot of confidence and not afraid to take some chances.  Is there a coach in the league better at developing rookies than Joe Sacco?... I don't think so.

Taylor Hall with the GWG (with special thanks to Jordan Eberle for the find and JM Liles for leaving Eberle to go pick up his stick... stupid) and an assist last night and that's 2+2=4 over his last four games... so maybe his slow start was just a rouse and he's ready to blast off.

A few AHL notes... Carolina's Zach Boychuk is up to 3rd in league scoring after a run with 6+13=19 in his last 16 games... the Sens Bobby Butler has 11+5=16 over his last 14 games and now leads all rookies in goals & points... Blues goalie prospect Jake Allen has three shutouts and six wins in his first seven games and sports a rather impressive .959 sv%... and the Kings Martin Jones isn't far behind as he is 1.45 & .950 through his first seven games.

Matt Duchene was the best player on the ice last night and he now has 3+8=11, plus-6 & 9 PIMs over his last 10 games.  He didn't come flying out of the gates this year but seems to have found his groove lately.

Interesting Peter Budaj stat... he's three & three over his last six games and has allowed precisely three goals in each of those games.  As we said from the beginning, he'll get you some wins while Anderson is out but it won't be pretty.

David Jones with an assist last night and he has 5+3=8 over his last eight games... not really a big fan as he's always hurt and will really only give you goals, that's it.  But as I mentioned the other day, he does score on a very high percentage of his shots (career 17.9 sh%) but I haven't figured out if he's really a sniper or just benefiting from playing with guys like Stastny & Duchene.

Ryan O`Reilly has only one assist over his last 12 games... don't think just because he made the NHL as an 18-year old that he's going to develop into an offensive player, we don't see it happening.

Martin Gerber stopped 35 of 37 shots to pick up the win for the Oilers... so if you had been holding on him in a keeper league, your patience has been rewarded!  This guy was a bad goalie as it is and on the Oilers he's even more scary.

The Coyotes have placed Petr Prucha on waivers, doubt anyone bites... he's coming off a 22 point season last year and has one assist in 11 games this season.  Man, he had 52 goals in the first two seasons after the lockout and only 26 in three plus years since.

The Flyers signed overage WHL dman Brandon Manning to an ELC the other day... he's one to keep an eye on as he's the leading scoring dmen in the league with 10+16=26 to go along with 63 PIMs through 21 games.  He's had a few years where he's put up a good combo of points & PIMs on what hasn't been a very good team in Chilliwack.
