Got a tough choice to make

First the particulars, 12 team standard Yahoo! H2H.  Team is currently in first, but those little bastards are nipping at my heels.  I picked up Crawford when Rinne went down and now have to make room for him in the lineup.  My other 3 goalies are Howard, Neuvirth and Crawford.  I've tried an assortment of 2 for 1 trades involving Neuvy and a forward for a better forward, but anyone who is still active either a) doesn't want to trade with me or 2) is set in goal.

Here's the rest of the team.

Centers.

M. Richards, Duby, Savard, and sometimes Pavelsky

LW

Sedin, Burrows, Flash

RW

D. Brown, Iginla, Pavelsky

D

Buffy, Visnovsky, Pitkanen, Captain Kirk

G

Howard, Crawford, Neuvy, Rinne (IR)

My options, as I see them are; drop Neuvy - but he seems to have the edge now and will get scooped up, drop Pitkanen and roll with 3 D (also will probably get picked up), drop Savard and use Pavelskys dual eligibilty, or do nothing and let Rinne sit on the IR for a bit longer (but that'll prevent any other adds/drops).  Of course I could up the ante and overpay in a trade.  Any thoughts that I haven't considered?

Nice team. It is a tough choice but I don’t think you have any other options than to drop a goalie (unless you want to trade Howard, which I wouldn’t do).

Better to be in this situation than not having enough talent back there.

I’m curious to see what everybody else has to say.

since you don’t want to drop anyone
you might leave Rinne on IR for now
hockey is violent — you may have occasion to swap him for someone else soon

I concur, unless you get an injury and can swap him in for someone else, let him ride the pine and maybe scope out your league for someone needing a goalie upgrade. Possibly could do a 2 for 1 and try to upgrade on a position while getting rid of your IR prob

I think you’ve covered all the options… not sure what the best one is but I agree with Dio above, I’d leave Rinne on IR for the moment just to see what happens, you never know what will change in the next week or so. Beyond that, Neuvirth & Savard would be the two I’d look at dropping but I’d rather hold on to both, if possible.

So Varly is starting again and Crawford is still DTD

and with Osgood starting last night I have no goalie stats so far. Not gonna panic though. Still working on a 2 for 1.

Crawford is fine
Varly is no more the “starter” today than he was last week or last month

To update weeks later.

Dropped Pitkanen and activated Rinne. Swapped out Neuvy for Boucher. and dropped Shattenkirk for The Wiz. Have 3D and 4G now and coasting along in first.
