Injury Updates - Dec 29th, 2010

Couldn't fine a pic of Toews getting hurt so we'll go with this one instead... since it's equally disturbing.

For a consolidated list of injuries & current status, see our Injury Updates page.

Bad, bad night for injuries...

Jonathan Toews went in the boards hard and came up favouring his shoulder... he left the game and afterwards the team said they hoped it wasn't serious.  Well hope and a quarter used to get you a phone call... but it doesn't get you much of anything these days.

Evander Kane picked up an arm injury last night and left the game early... hopefully we'll know more today.

Ryan Whitney left last night's game with an ankle injury... no word on the extent yet.

Kimmo Timonen suffered a LBI last night and he left early... he'll be re-evaluated today.

Marcus Johansson sat out last night's game due to a lingering hip injury... he's listed as day-to-day.

Joe Pavelski is out for tonight's game due to a LBI.

Radim Vrbata has sat out the last two with a LBI... man, I didn't even realize he was gone (that was sarcasm).

Ryan Getzlaf took a puck to the forehead last night and had to leave the game... he'll be re-evaluated today but it doesn't sound serious, merely a flesh-wound.

Steve Sullivan will be held out the next 10-14 days due to his LBI.

T.J. Oshie is making progress with his ankle rehab and is expected back sometime at the end of January... so no real change for the original 3 month timeframe.

Patrice Cormier made his NHL debut last night after sitting out a few months with a broken foot and then rehabbing it in the AHL.

Returning to action from the injured list last night:  Patrick Kane, Ales Hemsky, Tom Gilbert & Ilya Bryzgalov.
