Yikes, did Janet Eagleson really just say that??? I think she did (click the link above for proof). She was specifically talking about last year's trade deadline but makes the blanket statement that most trades are bad for the player's production and "A decline is almost inevitable". She mentions Peter Mueller & Wojtek Wolski as exceptions from last year but apparently she lives in a world that doesn't include guys like Lee Stempniak, Lubomir Visnovsky, Ryan Whitney, Niclas Bergfors, Ville Leino, Jordan Leopold, Teddy Purcell, Benoit Pouliot, Guillaume Latendresse, etc... and that's just from last year! So far this year guys like Tomas Fleischmann, James Wisniewski, Dwayne Roloson & (likely) Wojtek Wolski are seeing significant bumps due to trades. Let me be clear: I believe the exact opposite of what Janet says to be true.
