Hey crew, what's shaking?
So here's the skinny. I have as my goalie rotation Mr. I-can't-believe-I-picked-him-up-from-the-wire Tim Thomas, Jimmy Howard and Ol' Battle-Axe hisself, Martin Brodeur, who had recently been dropped by another owner. I jettisoned Mikka Kiss-her-soft over a week ago to make room for Brodeur as soon as I sniffed that Marty was turning it around and I haven't regretted it yet.
Problems? What problems? Not in the goalie department. Center, however... sigh... mon dieu! I drafted Travis Zajac (oops!) and Vincent Lecavalier (did I just say oops? Well, oops, again dammit!) plus I don't remember who else and was constantly getting my butt handed to me in that department until somewhat righting the ship by picking up Logan Couture and Brandon Dubinsky (IR).
Here's the dilemma. I'd like to see if I should make a push for another owner's center, someone more palatable than my first two, and dangle either Howard or Brodeur plus Travis or Vinny as bait. Which goalie would you offer? Howard has been putting up mediocre numbers lately, but plays for the Wings, whereas Brodeur has been a better second half goalie the past three seasons but may be more injury-prone now and plays for a mediocre Devils team. I'm leaning towards keeping Ol' Battle-Axe, hoping he can keep it going, since Howard could have better trade potential.
Should I ride my vaunted goalie corps to fame, fortune, glory and the adulation of scores of fantasy hockey groupies who I KNOW must exist somewhere, or should I attempt a trade?
Opinions, please.
