Wednesday's Daily Dosage - Setoguchi, Neil, Konopka...
Devin Setoguchi with another goal, his second of the season, and he played over 20 minutes last night. If this ice-time holds then it could be a real nice season for the Gooch as he was only averaging 15 minutes a game with San Jose last year and certainly wasn't one of the main cogs on the PP.
Joe Vitale with 2A last night for the Pens... he's getting a regular shift these days and that could continue for a while but the points won't.
Chris Neil was a busy boy last night with eight hits but also chipping in 1+1=2 & plus-2. I wouldn't count on the scoring to continue but the hits & PIMs are always pretty consistent with this guy.
Peter Regin had 2A in his first game of the season last night as he attempts to use his veteran savvy (from 142 career NHL games) to win the Sens #2C role ahead of a few newbies. Regin was looking promising after 2009/10 but took a major step backwards last season so it's hard to know what we have here.
Like this efficiency from Zenon Konopka... two games, less than 14 minutes of total ice-time and he already has 24 PIMs. He's on pace for close to a 1,000 PIMs right now... wouldn't that be something.
David Rundblad made his NHL debut last night and here are his vitals... no points, minus-1, three shots, 20:59 TOI with 2:50 on the PP. Should be good enough to keep him in the lineup for a bit.
Nikita Filatov, Bobby Butler and Brian Lee were the healthy scratches last night for the Sens.
Rich Peverley signed a three year $9.75M extension with Boston... he's paid his dues so I'm happy for him but that seems like an unnecessary contract to a guy who is 29-years-old and has just one season with over 50 points in his career.
The Blues claimed Taylor Chorney on waivers and it's likely just for a quick look-see while Colaiacovo is on the IR. I wouldn't expect him to play or produce much in St.Louis.
Kyle Cumiskey has been sent down to the AHL by the Ducks, who just picked him up last week.

I almost choked when I saw that Peverley contract. And that team won the stanley cup? What a joke.

Common sense says take the under
But I’d put a flier on the over, what the hell :)
Being from Minnesota, it would be rude to put something clever here.
Letang is looking like a freaking beast out there every game so far this year. If he can keep that consistency up he’ll be a Norris finalist, not to mention how he’ll explode for points once Geno and Sid come back… and he already has 6 in 4 games :)
Agreed… but recall that he started with 5+21=26 in his first 28 games last year and then went 3+21=24 over his last 54. A heatlhy Malkin & Crosby should help level things off.

Chris Neil is becoming one of my star players… I drafted him for hits and PIM but he’s bringing in the points too!
L2 for the Jets ain’t much of a prize but at least the kid is getting a chance to play.
