Thanks in advance for the help, as this post is going to be a bit long.
My keeper league draft is coming up shortly. It's a 12 team league with 9 keepers each, no position limits. H2H league counts G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, GWG for skaters and W, GAA, SV%, SO for goalies. Forward positions don't matter too much as we start F, W, Util, Util in addition to the standard positions. I'm pretty set on my first 8: Nash, Giroux, Backes, Skinner, Couture, Koivu, Weber, Subban. My last spot is pretty much between Karlsson, Benn, and Varlamov.
Karlsson was helpful last season as my weak points were A and PPP, and he has looked very good offensively so far. However, D aren't as valuable as we have daily lineups and small benches (4 spots), allowing bench forwards to play quite frequently. Varly has also been really good and I'm a little wary of not keeping any G, but I have concerns about the Colorado D, win totals, and injuries. He is also ranked quite a bit lower by Yahoo (142), so I might be able to get him a few rounds into the draft. Benn and Karlsson are ranked 108 and 103 respectively.
Some other goalies who should be available: Roloson, Pavelec, Reimer, Kiprusoff, Anderson, Backstrom, and all the backups. I'm thinking of doing what I did last year, which was to grab guys like Varly, Schneider, Bernier, and Neuvirth who will do well when they do play and just rotate them in. This worked quite nicely, as we don't have a lot of cumulative stats for goalies and there is no min games played.
As an aside, who would you rather have, JVR or Benn? Benn is a little more proven but I like the situation in Philly more than Dallas.
