Saturday's Injury Updates - R.Whitney, Hemsky, Dekanich...

Stay connected for news and updates

Initially it was thought Ryan Whitney would just be out a few days due to his sprained knee but things tend to mushroom with this guy and now he's expected to be out for three weeks.

I know some of us have been waiting for this for a while... the Oilers finally put Ales Hemsky on the IR due to his shoulder injury.

Mark Dekanich (ankle) has been skating and should resume practicing in about a week.

Evgeni Nabokov didn't practice yesterday due to his groin injury... no word on how serious it is.

James Reimer has been put on the IR due to his head injury (don't call it a concussion) and will miss tonight's game but the team seems to think that he could play on Sunday... I think they really have no idea.  One other thing on the Leafs... recall that this is the team that said Grabovski didn't have a concussion when he was stumbling around like a drunken sailor after taking a Chara hit last year so their credibility is suspect.

Drew Doughty (UBI) is expected to be activated off the IR today and should play tonight.

Martin Erat (UBI) is probable to return to action tonight.

The Habs say Andrei Markov (knee) is a week or two away from practicing.

Alex Auld is sidelined with an undisclosed injury so the Sens have called Robin Lehner up.

Curtis Glencross returned to action after missing one game with a LBI and he notched two assists last night.
