Tuesday's Daily Dosage - Garrison, Stalberg, Leddy....
Jason Garrison now has goals in three straight games and leads all dmen with five goals on the season. He'll log a lot of ice-time, will see some 2nd unit PP time and isn't afraid to shoot the puck (30 shots so far) but I wouldn't expect this patch of good fortune to continue. He could end up with 25 points if everything goes right but that's about it.
Viktor Stalberg has been lining up with Toews on the top line lately and used his speed to go end-to-end and fire home the OT winner last night [video below]. That goes nicely with his pair of goals last game, so keep an eye on the kid if he can hold onto this spot (not likely).
Evander Kane took a nasty headshot and his whole season flashed before my eyes but then he popped up and went on to pot two goals last night.... attaboy. So for those of us keeping track he now has 4+2=6 over his last five games and is on a healthy pace for over 300 shots.
Nick Leddy with a goal in 21 minutes of ice-time last night and he led all Hawks dmen with 4:57 of PP time. This gives him 1+4=5 & plus-5 over his last six games... I've got my eye on him.
Dmitry Kulikov with another PPA in 26 minutes of ice-time last night and he has 0+5=5, plus-5 & 14 shots over his last five games.
Have to mention Nik Antropov as I'm heavily invested in him this week after adding him in three leagues due to the Jets four-game week... just an assist last night but he still has 2+5=7 over his last five games.
Kyle Wellwood has been playing on the top line for the Jets and has 3+2=5 over his last five games. His promotion has pushed Blake Wheeler down to the 3rd line where he saw just 12 minutes of action last night. I'm a fan of Wheeler but he seems lost this year and is still searching for his first goal of the season.
He's heating up... Patric Hornqvist started with no goals and 11 shots in his first seven games and now has four goals & 13 shots during a three game goal streak.
Ryan Callahan started slow this year but seems to be enjoying being back at home as he now has 4+1=5 & 18 shots over his last four games.
Dan Girardi with a relatively light 25:39 of ice-time last night but he added two assists to his total to give him 1+5=6 over his last six games.
Tomas Fleischmann with 2+1=3 on six shots last night and he has 4+3=7 & plus-4 during a five game point streak.
Joe Pavelski continued his torrid pace with another two points last night giving him 6+5=11 & plus-8 during a six game point streak.
Logan Couture is streaking as well as he now has 4+2=6 during a six game run.
The Sabres are shaking up the lines a little and Ville Leino gets a promotion (not sure what he did to deserve it?) as he'll play with Vanek & Pominville while Luke Adam will slide down to L2 with Roy & Stafford.
Detroit signed Niklas Kronwall to a seven-year extension... seems like a lot of term for a guy who is already 30 and prone to breaking down.
The Wild have returned Brett Bulmer to the WHL after a nine game audition.
Exciting news here as the Wings have called up uber-prospect Gustav Nyquist after he started with 4+5=9 in his first nine games in the AHL this year. He looked good in the preseason and it's pretty rare for the Wings to rush a kid along like this so they must be as impressed with him as we are.
Nick Bonino has been called up by the Ducks... I like this kid, he's produced in college & the AHL but has never done much in the NHL.
Stalberg's OT winner...

Big Pov vs. Krejci?
Is Pov comparable enough to Krejci to warrant a swtich? Pov is available on the wire and Krejci….well he has been sucking. Or would patience be the proper course here?

Oh… Antropoof… wasn’t sure who the ‘Big Pov’ was, now I get it.
Depends on what your needs are, if you need a boost short-term then maybe go for Antropov but if you’re more interested in long-term then I would expect Krejci to have better numbers at the end of the season.

Krejci's fate may lie in his performance tonight vs.
Show me your worth David! Regain the mantle of Boston 1C!

Leddy
has 2g, 5a in 11 games to lead all Blackhawks D-men in scoring
that’s a 50-point pace
i realize it is early to provide pace #s
but it is definitely encouraging
I’m impressed with how much this kid has been playing… he’s taking over Campbell’s minutes and more.
