Thursday's Daily Dosage - Myers, Subban, Montador...
NHL players, listen up... if you want your coach to stop sending you a message by making you a healthy scratch then don't turn it on the minute you get back into the lineup. Tyler Myers ruined it for everyone last night as after being a healthy scratch on Monday, he returned to register his first two goals of the season last night.
P.K. Subban had to get going eventually and with two points last night he now has 1+4=5, plus-4 & 12 shots over his last five games. He's on pace for a big fantasy season with 35 pts, 100+ PIMs & 240+ shots but it could end up being a monster fantasy season as he should end up closer to 50 points.
Marian Hossa with 3A last night and he now has 3+11=14 & plus-12 over his last nine games... he looks to be back to his dominant form that we haven't seen since his Ottawa/Atlanta days.
Nick Leddy played a sec under 25 minutes last night and with an assist he now has 5A over his last four games. I didn't really see the upside in this guy but a team like this can turn anyone into a useful asset, I suppose.
Speaking of which... Steve Montador with another two points (one PPA) to give him 4+2=6 (four PPPs) over his last four games. Playing forward on the PP seems to have ignited his offensive game at ES as he jumped up into the rush and blew one by Schnieder last night.
Game #5 of the Super Series last night... it was the WHL's turn and they took care of business with a 5-2 win in Regina. Portland teammates Ty Rattie & Brad Ross led the way with 1+1=2 each. Rattie is a player that I like a lot, he slipped into the 2nd round (32nd overall to St.Louis) in this summer's draft but he's showing what he can do when he's given a L1 role (with Johansen & Niederreiter graduated) as he's currently 3rd in WHL scoring with 19+18=37 in 21 games.
This is just for deep leaguers... Marcus Kruger is playing 16-18 minutes a night on the 3rd line and is a regular on the Hawks 2nd PP unit. He's had some modest production lately with 1+2=3 over his last six games.
Viktor Stalberg has 1+3=4 & plus-6 during a four game point streak as he's playing with Toews & Hossa but his upside is limited as he doesn't see any PP time (no PPPs this year).
Patrik Elias with his nightly contribution (two last night) and he has at least a point in 14 of 17 games. The kicker is that he's doing it with Sykora & Zubrus as linemates... impressive.
Adam Henrique with 2A last night and he now has 4+6=10 & plus-5 over his last 10 games. I love how he's been able to step right in to the L1 role and big minutes.
David Clarkson has goals in back-to-back games as he continues to see time on the top PP unit.
Luke Adam played a season low 9:19 last night... he has just two points and a minus-5 over his last seven games.
Hang in there... Eric Staal had no points and drops to a minus-18 but he did have seven shots and things will improve for this guy, I swear.
It bleeds!... Jhonas Enroth showed that he's not invincible last night as he gave up five goals on 19 shots and was pulled in the 3rd period for his first loss of the season.
After a mixed bag to start the season, Carey Price has really settled down and is 6-2-0, 1.65 & .939 over his last nine games including the 25 save shutout of Carolina last night.
Jack Johnson has assists in three straight and was busy last night chipping in four PIMs, three shots & four hits.
Mattias Tedenby was a healthy scratch last night.
Chris Stewart will be sitting and watching the next three games after being suspended for that hit on Kronwall.
Coming up from the AHL: Eddie Lack & Corey Tropp.
Down to the AHL: Casey Wellman, Eric Tangradi & Nick Bonino.
Rostislav Olesz is likely headed to the AHL shortly as the Hawks have placed him on waivers.

Luke Adam is starting to disappoint me
What do you think his season output will be? He had the hot start but if he’s not playing with Pominville and Vanek, I don’t see him doing much this season.
Hic sunt fortuna dracones
He’s down with Stafford and Leino so that’s a big hit. He’s still on the PP2, but at 9 minutes, his worth is plummeting.

I think he’ll still get his points, assuming he sees a regular shift, but his value certainly takes a hit if he’s not the #1C.

Agree. Adam or Letestu if you have to pick one?
2011-2012 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl: Vyechnaya Pamyat!
2011-2012 Colorado Avalanche: The possibility exists that this may not suck.
Adam… more talent, more proven, better team, etc.

Adds/drops
Dmen. Right now I have:
Hamonic, Kulikov, Lidstrom, Meszaros, Quincey, Moore (Columbus), Klein (Nashville), Flood (Winnipeg)
Tomorrow is waiver day. I was thinking of dropping one/both of Hamonic and Klein and picking up Polak (St. Louis) and a keeper prospect – Gormley (Phoenix property).
Other d-men on the wire in this very deep pool are:
Montador, O’Brien, Schenn, Brewer, Vlasic, Hannan and Coburn.
Let’s say I drop Hamonic and pick up Gormley. Do you think I have better options than Klein on the wire?
It may just be for the short-term but I’d grab Montador and drop Klein… not a lot of upside with Klein. I’d get rid of Flood before Hamonic but if you can’t wait around for Hamonic then I understand.
