I think I drafted a pretty good team this year and made a couple of tweaks to my lineup since the start of the season, but I'm 11th out of 12 teams. Is my team under performing? Here's the lineup:
C: Duchene, Burmistrov, Filppula
LW: Sharp, Morrow, Neal (traded for him a week ago, gave up Marleau)
RW: Perry, Grabner, Purcell (waiver pick up)
D: Giordano, Ian White, Kulikov (waiver pickup, dropped Travis Hamonic), Erik Karlsson (traded for him, gave up Shea Weber), Bogosian (waiver pick up, dropped Krownall today)
G: Cam Ward, Martin Brodeur (traded for him 2 weeks ago, gave up Neuvirth)
Bench: Marcus Johansson (C, WSH), Ryan O'Reilly (C, COL - waiver pick up), Brian Gionta (MTL - traded for him, gave up Andrew Ladd), Cory Schneider (VAN)
Categories: G, A, PPP, SHP, Hits --- W, L, SV, SHO
Duchene and Grabner are having really slow starts, as is my number one draft pick Corey Perry. My goaltending situation was a little weak, but with Brodeur activated from IR, I'm hoping he'll stay healthy and improve things. I think I made some pretty good moves so far, but I haven't made any big move in the standings.
Should I just stay patient and wait for my big guys to wake up? Is there an area I should try to improve via trades/waiver?
Some possible FA targets up front:
Shawn Horcoff (C - EDM), David Legwand (C - NSH), Craig Smith (C - NSH), Chris Higgins (LW - VAN), Kyle Wellwood (C - WPG), Matt Read (C,RW - PHI)
And possible FA on the blue line:
Grant Clitsome (CLB), Oliver Ekman-Larsson (PHX), Jay Bouwmeester (CGY), Carlo Colaiacovo (STL)
Thanks for the input guys!
