Tuesday's Daily Dosage - Spurgeon, Clutterbuck, Ryder...

Reel in this 185-pound Spurgeon if you can

I'm really liking the looks of this... Jared Spurgeon with an assist on three shots last night and he has 1+4=5 & 12 shots over his last eight games.  He's played 22+ minutes in six of those eight games and with Zidlicky out, someone has to handle all the PP time and it's been pretty much just Spurgeon and Scandella getting those minutes.  Give this guy a long look as he's in a nice spot.

Cal Clutterbuck kept his glorious run going with a SHG and assist last night.  He has 5+3=8, plus-5, 20 PIMs, 39 hits & 31 shots over his last nine games.  He's definitely worth pwning.

Nice night for Michael Ryder with two goals, GWG, plus-1, two PIMs & six shots... he has 3+2=5, plus-4 & 12 shots over his last five games.  I'm not really a fan of this guy but I do like the 3rd wheel on a line with Benn & Eriksson and that's been Ryder's assignment for most of this season.

Andrew Raycroft stopped 35 of 36 for his first win of the season last night (to go along with five losses).  There are people scrambling to grab this guy with Lehtonen out for at least three weeks but I won't be one of them... this guy should not be trusted, trust me.

Star-divide

Mikko Koivu with two points last night to extend his point streak to six games where he has 3+6=9... hopefully you all were patient and held on to him through his slow start.

Jordin Tootoo had an active evening with an assist, four PIMs, four shots & three hits.  He has 2+3=5, 16 shots & eight hits over his last four games.  So give him a look if you need a short-term fix in one of those areas.

Knew Adam Larsson was good last week but didn't realize that he has a five game point streak going with 1+4=5.  He's tied with Gragnani for the most points by a rookie dman right now.

Unreal stuff here as Eric Nystrom scored again (his eighth of the season) and he has 3+2=5 over his last five games.

Sheldon Souray's streak has run to 10 games without a point, although he's not completely useless as he's chipped in eight PIMs and 31 shots over his last 10 games.

Jordan Eberle scored last night and now has 5+8=13 over his last eight games.

Mike Richards with another goal last night to give him 9+1=10 over his last 10 games... and just one of them has come on the PP, so dude is killing it at evens.

The Flyers have put Andreas Nodl on waivers after he's started the season with just a single A in 12 games.

Brayden Schenn has been recalled after a three game conditioning stint in the AHL where he had 2+2=4.  He has at least a point in all seven AHL games he's played this season (6+6=12 in total).

Going down to the AHL:  Michal Repik, Jacob Markstrom, Brandon McMillan, Corey Tropp, T.J. Brennan & Nate Prosser.

Up from the AHL:  Louis Leblanc, Casey Wellman & Alexander Urbom.

Leblanc has been called up to fill in for the suspended Max Pacioretty and the kid has been looking good lately with 3+3=6 & 26 shots over his last six AHL games.

Maybe if your definition of year starts on Nov 15th… before that he played in 18 games

I see you have a very loose definition of "play" Cam

He definitely was out there for 18 games, I wouldn’t call it hockey though

I see, you mean in spirit and not in body… then yes, he has been missing all year. But he was eating up the PP minutes that are now going to Spurgeon & Scandella.

Yeah, that is true

Which is something we are very thankful for in MN right now! He looked like garbage whereas Spurgeon, Scandella, and the recently demoted Nate Prosser have all been looking good.
