Ken Hitchcock is going to look like a magician simply because Jaroslav Halak was due to stop shitting the bed at some point. Halak had a 29 save shutout in Hitchy's debut and that will surely give him a long leash. Not much to glean from Hitchcock's first game behind the bench as he kept the line combos pretty much the same and didn't alter the ice-time dramatically. T.J. Oshie made a good imrpession with 1+1=2 but he had been heating up even prior to this with 4+4=8 & plus-5 over his last eight games.
This is getting epic... Patric Hornqvist now has goals in six straight games (7+1=8 & 27 shots during the streak). This guy loves to shoot the puck so just keep hoping his luck continues.
Adam Henrique with the GWG late in the 3rd and he has 4+2=6 during a four game point streak.... you need to take a look at this guy, I grabbed him in one league last week but he won't be a secret for much longer.
Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 28 of 29 to beat the Habs to continue his streak with no regulation losses through his first nine starts. He's the story of the fantasy season so far but I'm still not convinced that I'm not just dreaming this whole thing and about to wake up any minute.
Semyon Varlamov was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots last night... after starting the year with three solid outings, he has a 3.59 gaa & .879 sv% over his last nine games.
A PPG on five shots for Gabriel Landeskog last night and while I don't think he has high-end offensive upside, dude is really impressing me as he's on pace for 300+ shots, which is an impressive feat for a rookie.
Johan Franzen with a hat-job last night and that chases his three points last game, so somebody just started eating their Wheaties after going six games with nothing.
Taylor Hall with just one assist and nine shots in his last five games, so the cooking ain't as nice on the road.
He's likely way under your radar and only good for deep leaguers but I was impressed with Lars Eller again last night... if he keeps this up then the points will come.
Benn's two assists came on goals by Michael Ryder, who has 3+4=7 & plus-6 during a three game point streak. This guy will likely disappoint you, cause that's what he does, but he's taking advantage of his situation right now and maybe he can hold on to it for a while. We'll see what happens when Steve Ott comes back.
John Carlson with a goal & four shots last night and he has 2+1=3 & 13 shots during a three game point streak.
Assist - Dmitry Kulikov. That's eight of those in his last eight games.
There has been lots of chatter lately about Derek Roy's slow start but he had 2+1=3 (all PPPs) and now has 3+2=5 during a three game point streak.
I'll admit that I didn't know anything about this guy until right now... Jets dman Mark Flood had a goal last night and now has 2+1=3 & plus-2 in his last three games. He's in the lineup and seeing some 2nd unit PP time due to Enstrom being out. He's a journeyman minor leaguer but has had some productive seasons in the AHL so he could be useful in a pinch.
Dustin Byfuglien with a late PIM-bomb to end off a nice evening with 1+1=2, 12 PIMs & 3 shots. A couple of two-point games lately has him on pace for 40+ points, so things are starting to turn around.
Bryan Little with his first two goals of the year on seven shots last night... so he's showing signs of life.
Tanner Glass with a Gordie Howe Hat-Trick last night and that was his second multi-point game of the season... good for him but I wouldn't go near him.
The CBJs acquired Mark Letestu from Pittsburgh for a 4th rounder. There is nothing wrong with this guy but I don't think he's the answer to the Blue Jackets problems. He has just one point on the season but I guess he can help out on the CBJs 3rd/4th line.
Michal Neuvirth has been alternating starts with Vokoun over the past five games but he was beaten for five goals on 36 shots last night and he's now give up 4+ goals in two of his last three.
It was just an ENG but Guillaume Latendresse has scores in three straight games.
Dustin Penner with two assists last night... this is noteworthy since they were his first points in 10 games.
Magnus Paajarvi was a healthy scratch last night... one point in 13 games will do that.
Erik Gudbranson has been a scratch for the last three games... you really shouldn't have been counting on him anyway.
Another minor trade yesterday as the Rangers acquired Francois Bouchard from the Caps for Tomas Kundratek. Bouchard had a pair of 100+ point seasons in the Q but not enough of that production has translated to the AHL so he's not really going anywhere. Not much to get excited about with Kundratek either.
Mattias Ritola would rather return to Sweden then go to the AHL... so take that.
