Saturday's Daily Dosage - Gagner, Kaberle, Ovechkin...

Sam Gagner was asked to fill Taylor Hall's skates on the Kid Line last night and he pulled it off with 2+1=3. He now has 3+7=10 in his last nine games. Sadly, I dropped him in one league 10 games ago... stupidstupidstupid.

Loving the morning after Jets games as there is always another great Evander Kane performance to gush about. 1+1=2, plus-2 & six shots last night and he now has 10+4=14, plus-11 & 56 shots over his last 11 games.

The Habs picked up Tomas Kaberle yesterday from the Hurricanes for Jaroslav Spacek [Here for Dio's Trade Analysis]. I'm not as hostile about this as a lot of people seem to be as while Kaberle certainly has his flaws and is struggling this year, he's a pretty consistent PP specialist. He can drive coaches crazy but if he gets into a rhythm of feeding Subban passes on the PP then he could be effective for the Habs and your fantasy squad (if you need A & PPPs and not much else). This is bad news for fans of Yannick Weber, as his PP1 days in Montreal are likely over.

Spacek had 2A in his Carolina debut last night but I'm pretty sure his fantasy days are behind him. This move means more PP time for Jamie McBain & Justin Faulk and, like clockwork, Faulk scored his first NHL goal last night (in 24 minutes of ice-time).

Watched the Caps-Leafs game last night and just one assist for Alex Ovechkin doesn't tell the whole story... he attempted 12 shots and put eight on net while looking very dangerous all night. If he keeps playing like this then he's about to start piling up the points.

3+1=4 (all on the PP) last night for Dennis Wideman, although he was telling people after the game that the last goal was tipped by Laich, so it could be changed. He and John Carlson are really flourishing under Dale Hunter with Carlson playing 25 minutes last night (3:26 on the PP) and adding an assist to give him 1+7=8 over his last four games.

Even before possibly getting credit for the last Caps goal, Brooks Laich extended his point streak to five game (2+3=5) with an assist. He was second on the team (behind OV) with 4:57 of PP time.

Cody Franson is playing crap minutes for Toronto (17 last night was one of his busier nights) but he now has points in three straight and 3+3=6 over his last night games. Let's hope that Ron Wilson will start to warm up to this guy instead of burying him on the bench.

Just two goals on the season for Blake Wheeler but he's turned himself into a nice setup man for Kane & Little... 3A last night for Wheels and he has 2+9=11 & plus-9 over his last 10 games.

It was a great start to the season for Alexander Burmistrov but now he's in a four-points-in-16-game funk.

Two points last night and Jordan Eberle has picked up a point in 10 of his last 11 (7+11=18)... that's hot. Same for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, just one zero in his last 11 (6+12=18). RNH played on both PP units last night and was on the ice for 6:37 of 7:27 of Oilers PP time.

No points in his last five but Stefan Elliott is holding his place in the Avs lineup (17 minutes last night) and led the team in PP TOI (3:18).

Getting the call from the AHL: Kyle Palmieri, Brandon McMillan, Alexander Urbom, Matt Taormina & Brad Malone. Keep an eye on Palmieri as he's holding a hot stick these days with 8+6=14 in his last eight AHL games and he leads the league with 17 goals so far. Injuries have held Taormina back but he could get a chance on the Devils PP, so we'll be watching him.

Demoted to the AHL: Roman Horak & Nick Bonino.
