Jeff Skinner sat out the Canes last game due to an illness which has now led to an undisclosed injury. He took a big hit near the end of their game in Edmonton on Wednesday and so the speculation is that he has a concussion but the team says no and that he might play on Tuesday.
We can go ahead and just assume that every injured Flyer is doing fine, at least that is what they tell us... until they subsequently have surgery and are out for a month. GM Paul Holmgren says that Claude Giroux was feeling fine yesterday and his head injury is nothing to worry about. He'll be re-evaluated today and the team will likely say that he's feeling fine.
Ilya Bryzgalov is also fine, he has a LBI but the team thinks he could be good to go on Tuesday.
Zdeno Chara is out with a leg injury and is expected to miss at least a week. Beyond that, we're not sure.
Evgeni Nabokov is likely to return from his groin injury this week after missing the past 11 games.
Nino Niederreiter (concussion) has been skating and is getting close to returning but they may send him to the AHL to get in some game action.
