Trade Offer
I got offered Corey Crawford and Dmitri Kulikov for my James Reimer. My goalies are Roberto Luongo, Carey Price, James Reimer, and Cory Schneider. I figure Crawford is good for wins if he can regain the starting job. But Ray Emery has been really good for the Hawks lately. Do I make this trade and hope the Crawford regains the starting job? Scoring is as follows:

I attempted a points league once
mad migraines ensued.
So my answer if it were standard roto.
Reimer missed time with head thing, seems all the rage this season
Given Emery’s injury history you have to assume that Crawford will get another shot
2010-11 Crawford is better than 2011-12 Reimer.
Hawks are better than Leafs.
Kulikov is a sweet bonus
I wouldn’t do it and would probably wish the rest of the season that I had
…did that help?

If it’s a keeper league then definitely stick with Reimer. If it’s a one year league, I think I’d do it. Reimer hasn’t been very good since coming back from injury and I still think that Crawford will regain the starter job but even if he doesn’t, you have good depth in net. We all love Kulikov on this site.

Depends on who you’re dropping to put Kulikov in, if you’re starting two or three goalies a night, daily/weekly lineup changes, etc.
Overall I think it’s a good deal as Crawford and Reimer should have pretty similar value going forward and you’re getting another asset added in. Although I’d probably be more comfortable making this deal if Emery wasn’t going nuts.
I’d try to play off the fact that Crawford is a backup (even though it likely won’t last) and see if you can get a better chip than Kulkov. You don’t really need another goalie so moving Reimer makes sense.

So, I ended up talking him into trading Crawford for Tyler Bozak and Cory Schneider. I talked up how Schneider might get traded and how good Emery has been lately. My goalies are now Roberto Luongo, Carey Price, Corey Crawford, and James Reimer. If Crawford regains the starting job and plays closer to 2010/11 Crawford, I have the best goalies in the league. Btw, this is a h2h league.
well played
