Friday's Injury Updates - Vanek, Weiss, Peverley

Thomas Vanek: "I hope you can keep this up without me. I'm feeling too sore". Pominville: "@$%&"

Thomas Vanek played only 10:50 last night with his undisclosed upper body injury. He had to leave the game with soreness. After the game he said "I'm just hoping to use these three days to rest and get through the 2nd half". I really don't like the sound of that as it sounds like even if he does play, he'll be playing hurt.

Stephen Weiss left the game in the 1st period after colliding with Chris Neil. I heard it's a chest injury and he's already been ruled out for tonight's game at Boston. More as we get it.

Rich Peverley missed practice the last two days and it sounds like he's not going to be able to play tonight. Dress someone else if you have the option.

Mike Green has been skating and the signs so far are encouraging. There's still no word on when he will be back but it may not be long now.

Tyler Ennis practiced yesterday in a non-contact jersey so while it's a good sign that he was at practice, we'll have to wait for him to be cleared for contact before we can guess at a return date.

Patrik Elias feels good enough to play tonight vs the Capitals.

Reports are that Peter Regin is out for the remainder of the season.

Stephane Robidas will not play tonight due to his injured foot.

Ryan Shannon is out 2-4 weeks with a LBI.

Ales Hemsky sat out last night with illness. All the same as this guy has been dreadful. Maybe Yahoo! was onto something when they ranked him at 380 or so.

Mikael Samuelsson (unknown) and Marco Sturm (LBI) sat out last night for the Panthers.

Returning last night: Patrick Kaleta, Mike Richards
