Wednesday's Injury Updates - Weber, Liles, Gagne, Green...
Update on the Shea Weber injury we told you about yesterday. It's a concussion and he's out indefinitely but Barry Trotz said he could be back as early as Friday. A few mixed messages there but things are sounding encouraging at least.
John-Michael Liles has been placed on the IR with concussion-like symptoms. No word on how alike the symptoms are to a concussion but gotta love the Leafs and their word play. No official return date yet but Wilson did say they are "shutting him down for a few days".
I missed Simon Gagne leaving the game early yesterday. Surprising, that I didn't notice a guy who's on pace for 34 points. Anyway, he left the game with a concussion and is sidelined indefinitely. If you were hanging onto him it's time to cut bait and find a replacement.
Another one I missed was Jamie Langenbrunner. He missed his second game last night with the flu. Don't expect him to be out much longer.
Mike Green's groin is apparently as healed as it's going to get and he could be back in action as soon as Friday. According to Green, "I think I’m going to have to be cognizant of this through the rest of my career, probably…I don’t think I’ll be 100 percent for a long time." Ummm, that's not very encouraging. You might want to lower your expectation for Green and if he starts off with a couple big games, consider shopping him.
Tomas Holmstrom is out for 7-10 days with a groin strain.
Curtis Sanford was "banged up" according to Scott Arniel. Doesn't sound serious though.
Returning to action last night: Milan Michalek

According to FH911 both Franson and Gardiner played on the 2nd PP.
The 1st unit went with four forwards.
