Thursday's Injury Updates - Crosby, Hemsky, Peverley, Higgins...
Sidney Crosby is still experiencing concussion symptoms after participating in some light workouts. Not a good sign. There isn't much we can tell you Crosby owners... you've pretty much got no choice but to hang onto him and hope for the best. There is no timetable for his return.
Kari Lehtonen is coming off the IR and Stephane Robidas is going on it. Robidas will be out 10-14 days.
Ales Hemsky returned to practice on Wednesday and might return to action tonight.
Curtis Sanford is still banged up so expect to see more Steve Mason tonight for the Jackets.
Rich Peverley is tabbed to return to action on Saturday night.
Sounds like Saku Koivu is very close to returning. The team seems to think he's ready and has put the decision to return in his own hands.
Jason Blake skated for the first time since his injury. I hope for the sake of you team this isn't considered good news for you.
Chris Higgins didn't make the trip to San Jose due to a swollen hand from an infection.
Colin White is out with an UBI.

Kris Letang
Just got dropped in my league, but there are no IR spots on the rosters.
My current lineup is
C Malkin, Kopitar
L Couture, Perron
R Seguin, Clutterbuck
W Lucic
F Plekanec
D Weber, Campbell, Suter, Visnovsky
Util Nugent-Hopkins, Doughty
G Fleury, Quick
BN Ott, Elliott, Halak
I already have a hurt defenseman, but Ott doesn’t do much for me either. I’m pretty high in the standings right now, and can afford to lose some, but is Letang worth the wait? If i hold on to Letang, I pretty much just have to rely on my goaltending to win 3 or 4 stat categories, and hope for a +/- or assists win. I also do well in ppp usually. Would I be crazy to make the add? Or crazy like a fox?
i’d add him
drop Halak — unless you are required to start like 8 goales per week or something.
w/ workhorse/studs like Fleury and Quick (+Elliott for spot plays) should be sufficient
word out of Pittsburgh is that he is progressing — and Crosby is not
so, it is vague, but he could be back soon and he’s got excellent upside
Halak
Thanks, I think I will pick him up. Not dropping Halak though. He’s putting up much better stats under Hitchcock, I think the blues are going to keep putting up wins, and I think with Bishop putting up good stats in the minors, and Allen supposedly being their future star, either Halak or Elliott will become trade bait, giving me some trade bait at the same time.
I don’t know you have some pretty solid d-men so do you really want to eat up a roster spot?
I assume this is a daily league? If, so you’ll be losing three games a week.
Agree with Dio though… having Elliott and Halak probably isn’t necessary,

Hm, okay. Maybe I’ll look into a trade. I’m pretty sure it’s not a daily league. It’s head-to-head weekly with 11 stat categories. I’d like Letang because it gives me the option to trade Weber/Suter/Campbell for a huge return when everyone’s healthy;

Also helps me monopolize the league’s defensemen and increase their value.

If it’s a weekly league (you can’t change your roster each day) then having a bench player that doesn’t play isn’t a big deal. I’d pick up Letang for sure if that’s the case.
