Saturday's Daily Dosage - Brodeur, Brodziak, O'Reilly...

Stay connected for news and updates

A .250 sv% in the first eight minutes last night was enough to get Martin Brodeur removed from the goal. He's been playing pretty stinky this season but I had been holding out hope as he was very solid down the stretch last year but may we be witnessing the inevitable dropoff for one of the greats?

Kyle Brodziak with two goals last night on five shots and while he's not really on a hot streak, you could do worse than the 6+4=10 & 35 shots that he's contributed over his past 15 games.

Another two points out of Ryan O`Reilly and the luck of the Irish is with him as he has 2+5=7 & plus-5 over his last four games. I've been telling you to avoid him as there is no pot o' gold at the end of rainbow for him but he might be worth a short-term add to see if you can leverage some of his luck right now.

Jakub Kindl with a point in each of his last three games but he's not seeing a lot of minutes, around 12-15/gm and no PP time. He's produced in the OHL & AHL but he'll likely need a major injury to someone ahead of him to show what he can do this season.

Jared Spurgeon with an assist last night to give him 1+5=6 over his last 10 games.

Big night for Kimmo Timonen with 3A & six shots against the Ducks... so he has seven of his 16 points in two games and nine points in the other 22.

Pavel Datsyuk now has 6+6=12 over his last seven games.

Valtteri Filppula scored again and has 5+2=7 during a five game point streak.

Patrick Sharp with a goal on five shots last night and he has 7+5=12 & 46 shots over his last 10 games. He's shooting the piss out of the puck right now with 97 shots so far (300+ pace), good for 3rd in the league.

The Hawks had Marcus Kruger playing at #2C last night between Sharp & Hossa but no points on four shots in 20 minutes of ice-time for him. We'll monitor that to see if it lasts.

Marian Hossa has fallen on hard times as he has just one point in his last five and one goal in his last 10.

Curtis Sanford gave up five goals on 33 shots last night and the wheels might be starting to come off as he's now given up 13 goals and lost three of his last four.

Ryan Jones with the always effective 3rd period hat-trick last night for the Oil. He had 18 goals last year and is now on pace for 28 this year but he's mostly on the 3rd line and doesn't provide enough in other categories to be rosterable in most leagues.

Zach Parise was fired up to play in front of his family & friends in Minnesota last night as he had 1+1=2 & eight shots. He has 1+3=4 during a three game point streak and hopefully this is the start of something... cause his owners could use a little sumthin-sumthin.

Minor league trade between Florida & Tampa sent a bunch of nobodies one way in exchange for who & who. James Wright (who played 48 games for Tampa as a 19-year-old) heads to FLA but he shouldn't be anywhere near your radar these days.
