Friday's Injury Updates - Wisniewski, Duchene, Byfuglien

James Wisniewski, looking down at his soon to be broken ankle.

Tough break (literally) here as James Wisniewski apparently broke his ankle last night when he was hit with a shot. I've only heard the whole "no timetable for return" thing, which is useless. We'll try to provide you with some more info as we get it.

Matt Duchene had to leave the game yesterday in the 1st period when he injured his right knee. He's listed as day-to-day so let's hope he's not out for too long.

Dustin Byfuglien sat out his second straight game last night and according to Claude Noel, he'll be out "about a week" with his lower body injury.

Bryan Little missed last night's game with his foot injury and I can't find anything about a return date.

Victor Hedman didn't play after leaving Wednesday's Lightning game following a collision.

T.J. Oshie practiced yesterday but he's questionable for tonight's game.

Mike Smith has been practicing the last couple of days so it shouldn't be too long before he gets activated off the IR and thrown into game action.

Shea Weber won't play tonight after suffering a concussion. The good news is that it sounds like he won't miss much time.

Stephen Weiss practiced yesterday so I wouldn't be surprised if he plays tonight.

The Red Wings placed Tomas Holmstrom on injured reserve.

Sheldon Souray will miss at least another week with his sprained ankle.

Brenden Morrow had to leave the game yesterday after taking a shot off his knee. The team is hoping he will be able to play tomorrow (Saturday) night.

Returning to action last night: Kari Lehtonen, Matt Gilroy, Ales Hemsky, Chuck Kobasew,

I would say Bryzgalov gets the nod. No point upsetting the seven year man in the first year of his deal.

Although Bobs would probably give them a better chance to win.

Yeah, as a huge Ranger fan, I hope they give the start to Bryz.
