Sunday's Injury Updates - Perron, Markov, Semin...
David Perron played for the first time in over a year last night and scored while playing 19 minutes with 5:08 on the PP. So those of you that have been holding on to him, time to reap the rewards.
You know what is not so rewarding this year: Owning Andrei Markov. He was supposed to be close to returning this week and then yesterday it was announced that he'll need minor knee surgery that will keep him out for at least another three weeks.
Alexander Semin didn't play last night due to a shoulder injury. He did take part in the morning skate, so it can't be that bad... he's day-to-day.
There is speculation that Mark Giordano's leg injury is season-ending and it could be but all the team is saying is that he'll be re-evaluated in three weeks to determine what next.
Jordan Staal took a puck up around the eye last night and left the game in a bloody mess. Hopefully he'll be fine.
Crazy night for the Islanders as Rick DiPietro left with a groin injury, actually that is pretty normal, but then Nino Niederreiter suffered a concussion & Michael Grabner left with a groin injury. We should get more on all three in the next few days.
Nikita Filatov played the next game after suffering a broken nose on Tuesday but that is listed as the reason that he didn't play last night.
Erik Johnson (groin) & Sami Salo (groin) are considered probable to return tonight... probably.
Ryan Miller returned after missing nine games due to a concussion/neck injury. He was run by Jordin Tootoo last night and didn't appreciate it but hung in there to finish the game, so hopefully that didn't shake him up at all.
Also returning to action from the injured list last night: James Reimer, Kris Versteeg & Chris Neil.
