Tuesday's Daily Dosage - Roloson, Weiss, Foligno...

Stay connected for news and updates

Ryan Malone doesn't even wanna touch him the butt-end of a six-foot stick

Dwayne Roloson gave up four goals on 31 shots last night and has now given up 4+ goals in five of his last six games!!! Steve Yzerman wasn't afraid to admit his mistake and call an audible with his goalies last year so you have to wonder if he's getting close to that point again.

Stephen Weiss with another trifecta last night and that's the fifth time in his past 11 games that's he's done that. In total he has 6+11=17 in what has been a crazy run over his last 11.

Dale Hunter is really leaning on his former Knights as Dennis Wideman logged 29 minutes and John Carlson played 26 last night. It's been more of Wideman on the PP but Carlson was the one with 3A & eight shots last night.

Nick Foligno is really getting comfortable as the Sens #2C as he has a four game point streak going (2+3=5) and has 6+8=14 over his last 15 games. I was slow to the mark here though as I've seen him scooped up recently in a few of my leagues.

Corey Crawford was pulled last night after allowing three goals on 16 shots, this is turning into a regular occurrence as he is 3-3-0 with a 3.93 & .866 over his last eight games. Ray Emery relieved him and only had to stop 11 shots for the SOL but the problem here is that Emery hasn't been any better. Hell, even Alexander Salak is struggling in the AHL, so he's not even an option right now.

The Sens Zack Smith with two goals last night and he now has five goals over his last five games and eight on the season. He won't give you a big point total but it will be enough to justify owning him when you combine it with the variety of other stats he brings (PIMs, Hits, Blks & FOWs).

My favourite whipping-boy, Martin Hanzal, has just 3A over his last 13 games. He's on pace for his typical 30-40 point season, if he can stay healthy.

No points in his last six games but Oliver Ekman-Larsson is starting to see solid ice-time with the Coyotes... his TOI was a season high 26:26 last night and he's been at 20+ minutes in each of his last nine games.

1+2=3 & five shots last night for Dmitry Kulikov and this guy is no longer a liability as he's shooting the puck more (on pace for around 150 shots) and scoring some goals. He's tied for fourth in the league in points by a dman with 19.

After giving Dale Hunter his first win on Saturday, Michal Neuvirth got the call again last night but blew a chance to impress the coach by giving up five goals in the first 32 minutes last night and taking the loss in Florida.

The Leafs went with Jonas Gustavsson last night against the Rangers and he was very solid stopping 30 of 32 for the win. He's now won five of his last six and if you remove two poor performances to start the season, he's 8-4-0, 2.82 & .909 in 13 games since... not stellar but not as leaky as most would assume.

Tim Thomas stopped 45 of 46 to beat the Penguins and run his winning streak to 10 games. He's up to top 3 in the league in gaa (1.87) & sv% (.940) and his numbers from last year, the playoffs and this this season are starting to look like pattern.

Called up from the AHL yesterday: Jacob Markstrom, Kevin Poulin, Leland Irving & Nick Palmieri.
