Wednesday's Daily Dosage - Kiprusoff, Jeffrey, Okposo...

At the risk of blowing my chances of robbing Jay blind in a trade, I have to mention that Miikka Kiprusoff has now won four straight games with a 1.69 gaa & .944 sv%... don't look now but the Flames are 11-3-3 over their last 17 games.

Dustin Jeffrey scored on the PP last night for Pittsburgh and played 19 minutes with all of the Pens centers out.  He has points in three straight games now and maybe this is the opening that he needs to prove that he belongs in the NHL.

Hopefully you were patient with Kyle Okposo after 1A & six shots in his first five games this year as he rewarded you for your faith with 2+1=3, plus-2, two PIMs & six shots last night... dude's a player, even on the Islanders.

38 save shutout of the Flyers last night for Dwayne Roloson and he's settled into a groove with Tampa as that was his fifth win in a row with back-to-back shutouts.  He's now 8-3-0, 2.02 & .932 with the Lightning but for some reason doesn't seem to be getting the respect of the masses as he's only 58% owned in Yahoo! leagues right now.

Keith Yandle extended his point streak to double digits with a goal last night and has 3+12=15 in his last 10.

Not a stellar performance but Marty Turco stopped 29 of 33 to pick up the win last night... we'll see if Coach Q goes back to him next game.

Alex Stalock got into his first NHL game last night in relief of Niemi and he stopped all nine shots he faced to pick up the win as the Sharks mounted a big comeback.  He had a nice rookie season in the AHL last year (39-19-2, 2.63 & .908) but there hasn't been much growth this year (19-17-4, 2.61 & .907)... he's still one to keep an eye on though.

Cody Hodgson played less than 10 minutes last night in his NHL debut, didn't see the game so I can't speak to how he looked but it seems like they're going to take it slow with him.

I'm not really sold on this guy but Michael Grabner kept his pre-break form rolling with another assist last night and he has 6+4=10, plus-7 & 31 shots over his last nine games.

Jay & I grabbed Travis Hamonic in a keeper league on Monday, like the kid's upside and encouraged by the fact that he's already logging a lot of ice-time for the Islanders (5th amongst league rookies at 20:56/gm)... and like clockwork, he scored his first NHL goal last night.

Simon Gagne kept his little 2nd half surge going with two more assists last night giving him points in three straight and 6+2=8 in his last nine... I know Jay will be happy about this (see our 2nd Half Draft).

A month ago the Devils couldn't give Brian Rolston away but now he's like their best player... he extended his point streak to six games last night and has 4+8=12 & plus-8 over his last nine games.

Not a fan of Erik Cole but he gets lots of ice-time and plays with decent players... two assists last night and he now has 5+9=14 over his last 14 games.

PPG last night for Joe Corvo to extend his point streak to six games (2+5=7).

First goal in 11 games for Nathan Horton last night and hopefully this will get him rolling... he started strong in Boston but has been in a terrible funk with only 5+6=11 in his last 32 games.
