Jamie Benn with the GWG to go along with five shots and four PIMs last night as he extends his goal streak to six games (6+1=7 with 25 shots)... I think we're witnessing this kid's blast-off to stardom as we speak.
Ryan Getzlaf with 1+2=3 last night and he's been very good since returning from his facial injuries with 4+15=19 in his last 13 games. The Ducks have been opening up the offense lately as since Feb 1st they're scoring at 3.31 gpg, well ahead of their 2.78 average for the season.
Dan Ellis started his seventh straight game for the Ducks and stopped 24 of 26 to improve his record to 5-1-1 with a 2.22 & .913 for his new team. Not to take anything away from what he's doing but the defense is doing a great job shielding him as he's only faced 25.6 shots/60mins during his career with the Ducks.
Vincent Lecavalier with no points last night but a pretty hefty 12 shots... love the effort but I'm really down on him this year as I was looking for a bounceback season but his points/gm (and shots/gm) looks like it will decline for the fifth straight season.
The Caps may not be able to remove Braden Holtby from the net as the kid stopped 40 of 41 last night for his third win in a row while putting up a .988 sv%.
David Krejci with a pair of assists to extend his point streak to five games (1+6=7).
Anze Kopitar with a nice line last night with 3G, PPG, GWG, plus-2, two PIMs & four shots. He's the opposite of last year as he's actually heating up in the 2nd half this season with 7+7=14 in his last nine games.
Jonathan Bernier won again, stopping 32 of 34 to beat the CBJs, he's now 4-0-3, 1.76 & .934 over his last eight games and has been playing a lot more regularly lately.
Dry spell for Ryan Smyth lately as he only has 1A to show for his last six games and has only scored once over his last 18 games.
Al Montoya with another solid outing as he stopped 26 of 28 to beat the Bruins and improve his numbers to 7-2-2, 2.02 & .927. I have to give it up to him as I didn't think this was possible but he's been very solid having only allowed more than three goals in one of his 12 games.
Kari Lehtonen only had to make 14 saves to post a shutout of the Wild last night and he's on a little run having gone 6-0-2, 2.08 & .924 over his last eight games.
Tyler Seguin was scratched for the third time in five games last night and he hasn't seen more than 15 minutes in a game since mid-January.
The Thrashers have sent dman Paul Postma back to the AHL after one game as Byfuglien returned last night.
