Braden Holtby wasn't his best yesterday but he stopped 27 of 30 to beat Chicago and pick up his fourth straight win. Neuvirth is back healthy but it sounds like the Caps will ride the hot hand and keep going with Holtby for now. I grabbed him in a league yesterday and put him in my lineup this week as I'll take my chances the streak continues despite the Caps heading out on a tough roadtrip that will take them to MTL, DET & NJ this week.
Marcus Johansson with an assist, four PIMs & seven shots yesterday in what was his most active fantasy game of his career so far. He's had assists in three straight games and has taken on a bigger role with Backstrom out.
Another solid contribution from Erik Karlsson yesterday as he had 1+1=2, four PIMs & four shots... it looks like a second straight late season surge from him as he has 3+4=7, 12 PIMs & 28 shots over his last six games. He's top 15 amongst dmen in goals, points & shots but last in the league in plus/minus (minus-33).
Tyler Ennis with two goals yesterday and he's on a nice run lately with 4+4=8 over his last seven games to move into 3rd place in rookie scoring with 43 pts in 69 games.
Dustin Penner with a score yesterday and he has a single point in each of his last five games with LA (2+3=5).
Corey Perry has been steady all season but he does have his share of hot streaks and he looks to be at the beginning of one right now as he had two goals last night and has 5+2=7 over his last three games.
Dan Ellis had his first poor outing with the Ducks as he gave up four goals on 21 shots and was pulled after 40 minutes. Ray Emery filled in, stopping all nine shots he faced, so he may be in-line for a start at some point coming up.
We mentioned Lauri Korpikoski's surprising season a few days back and it just keeps getting better as he scored twice last night (including the GWG) while playing a season high 22 minutes. He now has 6+2=8 in his last 12 games but I wouldn't get too serious about him unless you're in a deep league.
Shane Doan was in on both of Korpikoski's goals and added an ENG to cap off a three-point night... he has points in 12 of his last 14 games for 6+9=15 & plus-8 during the stretch.
2+2=4 yesterday for Jason Spezza and despite going off lately with 5+8=13 in his last 10 games he's likely going to finish with his lowest points/gm in a season since before the lockout. He'll be an difficult one to forecast next year as a bounceback season is possible but it'll be a challenge with a young Senators team.
Andrej Sekera continues his crazy run with another pair of assists and he has 2+11=13 & plus-7 over his last nine games.
