Fantasy Stars of the Week - Week#22

Fantasy_stars_medium

The biggest and brightest from the past week in Fantasy Land...

Three Stars of the Week:

3rd Star, from the Vancouver Canucks, numero 22, Daniel Sedin... the high point man last week with 3+5=8 in only three games.

2nd Star, from the Ottawa Senators, numero 65, Erik Karlsson... nice numbers across the board with 3+2=5, eight PIMs & 21 shots... and he was even a plus-1 last week!

1st Star, from the Washington Capitals, numero 70, Braden Holtby... wasn't even expected to see any action but instead he rang off four straight wins while stopping 110 of 114 shots he faced.

Star-divide

Rookie Star of the WeekBraden Holtby, Wsh - second straight week for a Capitals goalie in this space as Neuvirth got the nod last time.

Breakout Star of the WeekErik Karlsson, Ott - he's the top breakout dman this year, on pace for 47 points, and is neck-and-neck with Claude Giroux as the league's biggest breakout this season.

Breakdown of the Week:  Henrik Zetterberg, Det - no points and a minus-1 last week and he could single-handedly destroy my fantasy season as he was my big deadline acquisition in two leagues.

Free Agent Star of the Week (less than 50% owned in Yahoo!):  Braden Holtby, Wsh (26% owned) - second week in a row that the #1 star has been sparsely owned, proves that there are still gems to be had on the waiver wire.  Honourable mention to Andy McDonald (49% owned) with 3+3=6 & 18 shots last week and Martin Erat (17% owned) who had two points in each game last week for 2+4=6.
