Wednesday's Injury Updates - Wisniewski, Franzen, Wideman...
James Wisniewski took the warm-up last night but had to pull the chute and sit out due to an undisclosed injury. Given that they're right back at it tonight for game #7, I'd bet he misses it as well.
Enlightening quote from Wings Coach Mike Babcock on whether Johan Franzen (ankle) will be ready for the start of round #2:
"He'll play if he's ready, and if he's not ready, he won't play... Now, I've been wrong before, but I think the Mule is going to play."
... there you have it.
Dennis Wideman (leg injury) had to leave practice after just 15 minutes yesterday as he was feeling light-headed... not a good sign and the Caps still haven't indicated when he might return.
Chris Pronger ramped up the ice-time a little more last night as he played 17 minutes after only seeing four in his first game back... seems like he should be ready for even more come round #2 but his shooting will likely still be hampered.
Sami Salo is officially listed as day-to-day with a LBI... this guy is day-to-day at his healthiest so he could be out a while.
Returning to action from the injured list last night: Derek Roy, Jochen Hecht & Andrej Sekera.
