FHS Playoff Pool - Who You Should Have Picked...

This post will be of interest to the almost 500 people that entered the FHS Playoff Pool.  We'll take a quick look at each of the 21 boxes and see who is still alive and who you should have picked.

Head on over to HockeyDraft.ca to check out your team or take a look at here to see how the picks broke down.

* = still alive

(Note these numbers are unofficial)

*Daniel Sedin - 16
Alex Ovechkin - 10
Henrik Zetterberg - 8
Mike Richards - 7
Sidney Crosby - 0
WINNER: Daniel Sedin.  I and 61% of the rest of you made a very good choice here.

*Henrik Sedin - 21
Martin St. Louis - 20
*David Krejci - 18
Patrick Marleau - 13
Jonathan Toews - 4
WINNER: Undecided.  This could go down to the wire but you have to like Sedin's chances for coming out on top.

Steven Stamkos - 13
Corey Perry - 8
Patrick Kane - 6
Tomas Plekanec - 5
Marian Gaborik - 2
WINNER: Steven Stamkos.  Most of us (63%) picked Perry so the 28% who grabbed Stamkos are looking good.

Martin Erat - 6
Shane Doan - 5
Thomas Vanek - 5
Brandon Dubinsky - 3
Dustin Brown - 2
WINNER: Martin Erat.  I didn't think anybody would have picked Erat to lead this category but apparently 15% of you did.  Most players (44%) picked Vanek.

Pavel Datsyuk - 15
Claude Giroux - 12
Mike Cammalleri - 10
*Milan Lucic - 9
Patrick Sharp - 5
WINNER: Probably Pavel Datsyuk.  Lucic is going to have to have a pretty big SCF to pass Datsyuk.  The 23% of us who picked him are hoping for exactly that.

*Ryan Kesler - 19
Joe Thornton - 18
Ryan Getzlaf - 6
Brian Gionta - 5
Nicklas Backstrom - 2
WINNER: Ryan Kesler.  Kesler and Thornton made up 66% of the picks and 2/3 of those went Kesler's way.

*Patrice Bergeron - 15
Teemu Selanne - 7
Marian Hossa - 6
Jeff Carter - 2
Brad Boyes - 1
WINNER: Patrice Bergeron.  41% of you picked Carter so his two points killed a lot of teams.

*Nathan Horton - 19
Dany Heatley - 9
Johan Franzen - 3
*Mikael Samuelsson - 3
Ryan Callahan - 0
WINNER: Nathan Horton.  Since Samuelsson is out for the playoffs with an injury I think we can officially call this one.  What a playoffs for Horton... his first time at the dance.  Only 15% of you picked him.

Joe Pavelski - 11
Danny Briere - 9
Alexander Semin - 7
Tyler Ennis - 5
Bobby Ryan - 4
WINNER: Joe Pavelski.  Both Briere and Semin had more interest but Pavelski (and the 21% who picked him) came out on top.

BOX 10
Vincent Lecavalier - 20
Ryane Clowe - 15
Ville Leino - 6
Ray Whitney - 3
Dustin Penner - 2
WINNER: Vincent Lecavalier.  I hate this box.  Looking at it reminds me that I picked Ray Whitney.  If I had Vinny on my team instead I'd be in the top 50.

BOX 11
Teddy Purcell - 17
*Mark Recchi - 7
Danny Cleary - 6
Radim Vrbata - 5
Chris Kunitz - 1
WINNER: Probably Teddy Purcell.  Old man Recchi needs to play a hell of a lot better than he did against the Bolts (one point) to catch Purcell.  Only 9% of you picked Teddy P.  Nice work!

BOX 12
*Alexandre Burrows - 15
Logan Couture - 14
Ryan Smyth - 5
Scott Hartnell - 4
Drew Stafford - 3
WINNER: Alexandre Burrows.  It was a tight one between Burrows and Couture but 44% of you are happy with the outcome.

BOX 13
Jason Arnott - 6
Kris Versteeg - 6
Todd Bertuzzi - 6
Jason Pominville - 4
Tomas Kopecky - 0
WINNER: Three Way Tie.  Talk about a boring box.  None of the group even made to the third round.

BOX 14
Devin Setoguchi - 12
Valtteri Filppula - 8
James van Riemsdyk - 7
Ryan Malone - 6
Sergei Kostitsyn - 5
WINNER: Devin Setoguchi.  The Gooch was the #1 pick by you with 37% ownership.  It's also one of the very few boxes Cam and I agreed on.

BOX 15
*Mason Raymond - 8
Saku Koivu - 7
Scott Gomez - 4
James Neal - 3
Wojtek Wolski - 3
WINNER: Mason Raymond.  Raymond might have needed two extra rounds to beat the rest of the guys but a win is a win.  47% of you picked him.

BOX 16
Dan Boyle - 16
*Christian Ehrhoff - 11
Nicklas Lidstrom - 8
Kris Letang - 4
*Zdeno Chara - 5
WINNER: Probably Dan Boyle.  With Boston in the final you would think Chara would be a good pick here.  Nope, he's in fourth place.  It will take a miracle for Chara to win and a big series from Ehrhoff for him to pass Boyle.

BOX 17
*Tomas Kaberle - 8
Duncan Keith - 6
Mike Green - 6
Lubomir Visnovsky - 3
Chris Pronger - 1
WINNER: Tomas Kaberle.  A late surge from Kaberle has put him at the top of the table.  Only 18% of you are happy with this news.

BOX 18
Jack Johnson - 5
Keith Yandle - 5
Shea Weber - 5
Bryan McCabe - 2
James Wisniewski - 2
WINNER: Three Way Tie.  Another boring box.  The three leaders account for 83% of the entrees.

BOX 19
*Roberto Luongo - 16
*Tim Thomas - 16
Jimmy Howard - 7
Carey Price - 5
Marc-Andre Fleury - 5
WINNER: UNDECIDED.  A couple of shutouts in the 3rd round brought Thomas into a tie with Luongo.  This one will go right down to the wire.

BOX 20
Antti Niemi - 8
Corey Crawford - 7
Michal Neuvirth - 6
Ilya Bryzgalov - 0
Sergei Bobrovsky - 0
WINNER: Antti Niemi.  It took Niemi two extra rounds but he just beat out Crawford.  How you ask?  Crawford had a shutout and two assists.  Niemi had goose eggs in those two categories.

BOX 21

Dwayne Roloson - 12
Ryan Miller - 8
Pekka Rinne - 7
Jonathan Quick - 4
Henrik Lundqvist - 1
WINNER: Dwayne Roloson.  An easy win for Rollie as he's had this one locked up for the last few weeks.
