Around SBN: Why We're Skeptical Of LeBron James

Tuesday's Daily Dosage - RNH, Taormina, Eminger...

These guys should team up in a few years but we have doubts for this season

Lowetide with reasonable expectations for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for this coming season... he sees him sticking in the NHL all year (possibly being released for the WJCs) and around 35 points.  Very reasonable but I'm a little more pessimistic about his chances and think he'll be headed back to Red Deer after nine games.

Reports say the Devils have re-signed RFA dman Matt Taormina... he surprised by cracking the NHL roster out of training camp last year and logged big minutes right away.  He had 2+2=4 in his first seven games but cooled off, then suffered a high-ankle sprain in November and missed the rest of the season.  He'll be in the mix for one of the last few spots on the Devils blueline and we'd give Taormina the advantage as he brings some offensive ability that the Devils are lacking.  I thought he made a nice deep sleeper pick last year and I'm going to stick to my story this year.

Steve Eminger re-signed with the Rangers, he doesn't have any fantasy worthiness but it does start to clear up the NYR blueline as they now have five NHLers signed and likely Tim Erixon & Michael Del Zotto filling out the group.  But the Rangers actually still have cap space and I'll bet they bring in another veteran dman before training camp which could put those guys in a battle for one spot... I'd take Erixon.

Kings prospect Bud Holloway has signed to play for Skelleftea in the SEL next year, he must have got a tip from his Manchester teammate Oscar Moller who is going to play over there next year as well.  Holloway wasn't really in the Kings plans for this season so a year in Sweden can't hurt.

Byron Bitz signed a two-way deal with the Canucks... he'll do his best to fill the Raffi Torres role, that is if he even gets into NHL action.  He missed all of last year due to hernia surgery and had limited fantasy skills to start with.

Kris Draper is expected to announce his retirement today... so fire up the HOF debate!?!

Agree with you on the Rangers.

Just did my forecasts on the group last night and I can’t see them going into camp with MDZ and Erixon both expected to make the team. Seems like a risky proposition.
