Jay & I were having an interesting debate about potential keepers for our team in the Rotowire Staff League... would love to hear the opinion of some others.

I won't get into all the details but it's a 14 team league ($230 auction budget) and we start six dmen each week.  We could bring back the following dmen for next year (in brackets is their 2010/11 rank amongst all dmen in fantasy points):

Lubomir Visnovsky $16  (1)

Zdeno Chara $25  (7)

James Wisniewski $5  (12)

Brent Burns $3  (14)

Travis Hamonic $1  (48)

My initial thoughts were to let Chara walk as he's a little pricey and I'm also feeling like we don't need to keep four dmen since I think we can find some cheap ones in the auction (as we did with Burns last year), so I was leaning towards letting The Wiz go as I'm thinking last year was his peak.

I ran this by Jay and he nearly lost his shit... all he kept muttering was "He was 5th in scoring by defensemen".  True enough but I think Hamonic has big fantasy potential and you can't get him at a better price.  I also don't really want to let go of a good young forward like Paajarvi, Okposo or Leino as those guys are hard to come by.

So what say you?... are we crazy to let The Wiz go or should I give in to Jay and let a good young one like Hamonic or Paajarvi walk?... help a brother out here.
