We were told we would be getting some official info about Crosby's progress on Monday. So what did we get? I found these three quotes from GM Ray Shero the most interesting:
So the Penguins won't play Crosby when he's injury, he may or may not be ready to start the year and he'll be back at some point in the future. Thanks for clearing things up Shero. We'd be very nervous about picking Crosby with a high first pick right now. It's pretty obvious we won't know what going on until the season is nearly underway.
The Canadians signed Jeff Woywitka to a one year two-way deal yesterday. He's not anywhere close to fantasy worthy and the Habs already have seven d-men under contract. So assuming everybody is healthy look for Woywitka to start the year in Hamilton. The big fantasy impact is one of our very under-the-radar breakout picks, Raphael Diaz, will have an even harder road to NHL playing time.
This one slipped through out fingers last week... we might have been a bit busy with the FSR and Bible. Peter Harrold signed a one year two-way contract with the Devils. The Devils have seven d-men under contract so expect to see Harrold in the AHL. A few years ago Harrold had 43 points in 49 AHL games... but has done pretty much nothing in the NHL. The Devils are a great spot for a d-men to bust out as they are very desperate for an offensive blueliner.
