Monday's Daily Dosage - Alexandrov, Makarov, Unsigned FAs

Turris has the vision & Doan has the crazy eyes... these guys make a good pair

Not much news from yesterday so use the extra time that you would normally spend reading the dosage to download the update to the FSR & SuperStats.  This update includes a few tweaks & Jay added an Auction $ column to the SuperStats (a big time saver!)

Two Russians are heading back to Russia after a year in the AHL... Yuri Alexandrov & Igor Makarov both came to North America with some fanfare last year but neither really stood out in the AHL and so the perks are likely better (and the vodka cheaper) in the KHL than the AHL, so that's where they are headed.  It's possible the Bruins can lure Alexandrov back to the NHL someday so we'll keep an eye on him but we'd put a fork in Makarov's NHL chances as he's been disappointing for the last three seasons.

This is an FYI of who is still out there unsigned and worth keeping tabs on...

UFAs - Marty Turco, Bryan McCabe, Chris Campoli, Anton Stralman & J.P. Dumont.

From this list I'm really interested in seeing what happens with McCabe & Dumont.  Despite all the crap he takes, McCabe can still produce with 68, 57, 35, 46, 43 & 34 points/82 over his last six seasons.  He's also usually a decent contributor with some PIMs & shots.  Dumont is more of a wildcard but I just don't think it's possible that he's as bad as his 10+9=19 from last season... and he's not that old, just 33.

RFAs - Drew Doughty, Zach Bogosian, Kyle Turris, Josh Bailey, Brad Marchand, Shawn Matthias & Kyle Cumiskey.

These guys should all get deals done as camp approaches, hold-outs just don't happen any more, but worth keeping these names in mind as you never know what could happen.  Doughty is obviously the big name here but Turris is the one I'm most interested in as I really like his chances to play a major role with the Coyotes this year and fancy his breakout chances.  Turris only saw 11:16/gm of ice-time last year but had a very solid 2.30 ESP/60 so let's hope Tippett trusts him enough to give him a bigger role this season.

Turris

I just drafted Turris with the 213th pick in our dynasty league. I hope he really is a good one!

nice, that’s serious value for a pick that late.

Especially in a dynasty league… very low risk, high reward.
