Monday's Daily Dosage - M.Staal, Smith/LaBarbera, Josefson...

This development could make family gatherings a tad awkward

Alright, it's the 3rd week in September, prime preparation & drafting time in fantasy leagues so if you need fantasy hockey projections, stats or rankings, you can't do any better than picking up our draft kit... especially helpful since we just updated everything yesterday, this sucker is fresh!

Marc Staal is being held out of some training camp activities and will miss at least three pre-season games as he's experiencing post-concussion symptoms that are traced back to a hit he took from brother Eric in a February game [details via Blueshirt Banter].  The Rangers are saying all the right things that it's nothing serious and they expect him to be ready for the regular season but I'd be worried about this.

Here's a training camp battle that may not be getting the attention it should... Mike Smith vs Jason LaBarbera for the #1 goalie spot in Phoenix.  Most assume that Smith was brought in to be the #1 and he does have some history with Dave Tippett but does anybody really trust this guy?  Not that LaBarbera really inspires a lot of confidence either but if one of these guys grabs a hold of the job, stays healthy and Dave Tippett's system is as effective as some people think... they could be pretty valuable sleeper this year.  If I had to pick one of the two, I'd take neither... but maybe that's just me?

Devils coach Peter DeBoer kinda likes the look of Jacob Josefson as his #2C playing with Kovalchuk:

I'm seeing some chemistry.  But that's subject to change.

David Clarkson was the third wheel on that line... good news for Josefson but I'm not liking this if I'm a Kovalchuk owner, he's going to have to carry these guys.

Interesting stuff from Jonathan Willis as he's takes a shot at redoing the 2010 Draft after another year of data... overall there wasn't a lot of movement at the top but if I'm Tampa at #6 I'm reconsidering Brett Connolly over Cam Fowler or Mikael Granlund.

Here's a good idea if you've got a dispute in your fantasy hockey league... Fantasy Sports Court... that's right, lawyer up & subpoena the other GMs ass!
