Thursday's Daily Dosage - E.Kane, Brunnstrom, Kadri...
Evander Kane with two goals (including ENG) on nine shots last night, that's 3+1=4 & 19 shots in four preseason games.... I got a good feeling, refer to the Breakout Bible for how good.
Fabian Brunnstrom scored twice last night and really looks like he could make the Wings on a try-out.
Brendan Smith with 2A & 10 PIMs, flashing his fantasy stud potential but there could be a Shanahammer video made about him in the next few days.
Predators darkhorse prospect Craig Smith, who even Jay is mocking me for liking, had two assists & five shots last night in just 12 minutes of ice-time. He's not a lock to make the team but I'd say his chances are around 50/50.
Colin Wilson scored again last night and is leading the Preds with 3+3=6 through four preseason games.
Duncan Keith with 3A last night for the Hawks.
Anze Kopitar with a hat-trick and Jack Johnson with a trio of assists as the Kings blanked the Avs on a 27 save shutout from Jonathan Quick. Viatcheslav (Slava) Voynov played over 23 minutes and had 1+1=2, his situation could get interesting if the Doughty holdout drags into the regular season.
Jonas Hiller stopped 31 of 33 to beat the Canucks last night... he's looked very good in his two appearances so far and no signs of any vertigo issues.
Jarome Iginla hasn't skated in 10 days due to back spasms... this is starting to make me nervous.
Jason Arnott had eye surgery and will miss a week but should be back before the season starts.
Tim Connolly has missed the last two days of practice after taking a tumble into the boards the other day... Dr. Ron Wilson said it was "not serious" but let's see how quickly he returns.
Nazem Kadri is out 3-to-4 weeks with a sprained knee... so he'll likely have to prove that he's recovered in the AHL before they give him a look with the big club. Bad news for Kadri owners but good for Matt Frattin.
Mike Santorelli is out 2-4 weeks with a shoulder injury.
Viktor Stalberg left last night's game with a leg injury... no word on the extent.
Notable cuts from yesterday: Eric Tangradi (PIT), Matt Fraser (DAL) & Ty Wishart (NYI) is on waivers.
Great stuff from Robert Vollman at Hockey Prospectus as he revisited the AHL Translation factor and puts forward the suggestion that it should be a based on a curve and not a linear relationship... noted.

Like your Kane pick……took him with my 1st pick after my 10 keepers. Who do you see him playing with this year?
That’s the issue… unless he unseats Ladd on the top line with Little & Wheeler then he’s kinda stuck with some combo of Antropov, Burmistrov, Scheifele & Fehr. There is some talent there but those guys aren’t the most reliable/proven linemates in the world.

I like Ant, had the hip surgery last year, takes time to get back to 100%, should be good for 60+ pts again. Brum and Chef look good, Jets have a bright future. Ladd really stepped up last year, he is their leader, along with their Def
The thing you have to love about Antropov is you’ll be able to get him for a song… and like you said he has 60 point potential.
I wouldn’t count on him but he’s worth a flyer.
