Wednesday's Injury Updates - Vanek, Datsyuk, Eberle, Karlsson
Thomas Vanek left the game last night after playing only 4 minutes. They called it an upper body injury initially but they changed their minds and now it's a stomach bug. I'll take the latter for sure. Drink some Gatorade, shake it off.
Pavel Datsyuk couldn't go last night with his lower body injury and boy did the Red Wings miss him as they were lit up by the Islanders.
Jordan Eberle's knee injury is only supposed to keep him out 2-3 weeks so his owners can somewhat breathe a sigh of relief.
Erik Karlsson couldn't go last night with a UBI and this comes at the worst time as he was really flying. We'll relay more info to you as we get it.
Derek Roy skated in warmups yesterday but decided he couldn't go vs the Maple Leafs. He's still dealing with an upper body injury.
Jonas Hiller couldn't practice yesterday so the Ducks had to call up Jeff Deslauriers to make the start. There isn't a timetable for his return yet.
Zach Bogosian had to leave the game last night with a lower body injury. No word on the severity yet.
We were given a little Sidney Crosby info yesterday as Bylsma said that he's exercising. Well woopty-doo.
It sounds like Andy McDonald is ready to return from his concussion soon as he is now traveling with the team. Good news here.
Brendan Morrison missed another game with his "upper body tweak" but he shouldn't be out much longer.
Erik Johnson couldn't play last night with his hand injury. He's still considered day to day.
Jacob Markstrom will undergo a "minor procedure" on his knee today. Doesn't sound like we'll be seeing him anytime soon.
Jaroslav Spacek left the game last night and didn't return after taking a slapshot off the wrist.
Returning to action yesterday: Sheldon Souray, Boyd Gordon, Arron Asham,

Some other injurues/notes to pass you way
Zajac is out for the next 2 weeks (won’t return until after the ASG) with his achilles problem again.
James Neal’s “broken foot” was acutally just scar tissue from a broken bone that happened years ago. He took a shot that bruised his foot but is fine to play.
Mike Ribeiro has a slight MCL tear….he wants to play, but coach wants to sit him.
Thanks CBS.
