Thursday's Injury Updates - Gionta, Skinner, Mueller...

Stay connected for news and updates

Goalies won't have to deal with Gionta's stinky-pants for a while

Brian Gionta is out indefinitely, possibly the rest of the season, following bicep surgery.

Jeff Skinner (concussion) has been participating in contact drills at practice and it sounds like a return could materialize this weekend.

Your Sidney Crosby (concussion) progress report... he's expected to start skating this weekend.

More good news here as Peter Mueller (concussion) has been activated from the IR and could return tonight.

Mike Ribeiro has a slight MCL tear but he's such a macho-man that he wants to play through it... the team will probably be cautious.

Travis Zajac will sit out the next three weeks, hoping that helps his pesky Achilles recover.

Simon Despres is out 2-4 weeks with a knee sprain.

So not only is it concussions that NHL doctors can't figure out but now it's broken foots as well... James Neal was thought to be out for a month but instead he didn't miss a game.

Christian Ehrhoff (UBI) was back at practice yesterday and could return next week.

The Sens think that Erik Karlsson should be able to return tonight after missing last game with a UBI.

Dustin Jeffrey returned last night after 27 games on the shelf due to a knee injury.
