Friday's Daily Dosage - Arnott, Harrison, Cammalleri...

No lie, even before last night's game I was planning on mentioning Jason Arnott as he's been surprisingly productive lately and then the dude does me a solid with two goals last night. He now has 8+5=13 over his last 16 games, very good for a guy that I wrote off as over-the-hill.

One of the biggest surprises of the season, Jay Harrison, with the fantasy line of the night with 1+1=2, GWG, plus-2, seven PIMs, three shots, three hits & a blocked shot. He's been a real find for those of you that climbed aboard early and has 4+2=6 over his last seven games.

Eric Staal with another 3-point game last night, he has three of those over his last seven games for 3+10=13 in total. This is your reward if you had faith and bought low.

A bit of a bizarre trade for a number of reasons as Mike Cammalleri is heading back to Calgary along with Karri Ramo & a 5th for Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland & a 2nd. We'll have more on this in a little bit but my initial thought is that this has to be a positive for Cammalleri as he obviously wasn't happy in Montreal and goes back to a place where he had a career year (39+43=82 in 81 games) in 2008/09. Bouque can show flashes and get hot but he's a tough guy to rely on. I'm not very high on Holland but I do like Ramo as he has had three very strong seasons in the KHL (1.97 & .927 this year) and is still only 25, so Calgary gets a goalie with a lot of upside, assuming they can lure him back to NA sometime in the future.

Star-divide

Just to clear up my confusion on Minny's goalies... Josh Harding was sick so they called up Matt Hackett but then Harding started last night anyway before being pulled in the 2nd period and replaced by... Matt Hackett. Internet sleuthing on my part has revealed that sometime yesterday Niklas Backstrom became ill and I guess he was more ill than Harding so he got the night off instead.

Third straight loss for Mathieu Garon and last night's was particularly odorous as he gave up three goals on eight shots and was pulled after 15 minutes. Dwayne Roloson hasn't won a game since Nov. 17th, so he's not a great alternative right now. How long before Stevie Y pulls the trigger is the only question?

John Tavares extended his point streak to seven games where he has 4+9=13 & 28 shots.

Kyle Okposo with a score last night to give him 4+3=7 over his last seven games.

Sergei Bobrovsky with back-to-back starts and he beat two heavyweights, NYI & Carolina, by stopping 68 of 71 shots. Should be good enough for another start, at least, and maybe more???

Sean Couturier has goals in three straight games, including back-to-back GWGs.

Dave Bolland with 4+2=6 during a three game streak after a trio of points last night.

A pair of Gs last night for Jason Spezza gives him 5+3=8 & plus-8 over his last six games.

Things have really turned around for Craig Anderson, he had a 34 save shutout of the Rangers last night and is 7-0-1, 1.63 & .948 over his last eight games. I mentioned this earlier this week, his overall numbers (2.99 & .906) are disguising how hot he is right now so might be worth checking in with his owner to see if he's aware.

A field goal for Jack Johnson last night and he has the Tebow-power with 2+3=5 over his last two games.

Another goal for Radim Vrbata and he 's on one of his hot streaks with 5+1=6 over his last six games.

The Avs made David Jones a healthy scratch last night... one point in your last 13 games can do that.

PHX has placed Cal O`Reilly on waivers. Hell, if Gilbert Brule was claimed on waivers then lets hope that someone grabs this guy, I don't think he got a fair shot in the desert and it seemed like a bad fit from the start.

AHL call-ups: Cody Eakin, Jan Mursak & Jordan Caron.

AHL demotion: Iiro Tarkki.

You gotta believe at least Colorado with brother Ryan should take an interest as depleted as their forward corps is. Seems a nice fit to me.

Got my mojo working overtime sort of.
Dropped Kyle Palmieri Wednesday for Jimmy Hayes, once again looking for hits because Dubie is out, and got 1G+1A=2PPP had no idea Chicago was using him on the power play, might have to keep him a while.
Guess I should have listened to F911 about sitting Harding though.

Which line is Hayes playing on? Is it Bolland’s? I picked Bolland up to replace Sharp on my roster after I put him on IR and he’s making me look like a genius!
