Monday's Injury Updates - M.Staal, Gonchar, Josefson...
Marc Staal has been taking part in all facets of practice and could return soon but it would be a shock if he returned today.
Ryan McDonagh should be good to go for the Winter Classic despite having flu-ish symptoms... hell I've played pond hockey with full-on influenza and I wasn't even getting paid, so don't expect sympathy outta me.
Missed this yesterday... Sergei Gonchar took a puck to the head in warm-up on Saturday night and sat out the game as a precaution. Can't find anything to indicate if he'll be able to play tonight.
Jacob Josefson (broken clavicle) is recovering and is back practicing, look for him to return within the next week or so.

Breaking New York Rangers News: Marc Staal Will Play In The 2012 Winter Classic
I too was shocked
I thought that today’s game would mean too much to insert Staal, who can’t possibly up to game speed yet, into a lineup that has been clicking lately, not to mention the less than optimum conditions.
Apparently Tortorella feels the emotion boost outweighs the possible negative aspects.
Seems like a very odd call to me as well.
Maybe he just gets a couple of shifts?
