Friday's Daily Dosage - Malkin, Erat, Turris...
Evgeni Malkin with two goals last night to give him 7+2=9 during a four game point streak and moves him into sole possession of first place in the scoring race. He's been absolutely dominant lately.
The scoring race is so close with 10 players within five points of each other but a darkhorse could be Pavel Datsyuk as he moved into a tie for 3rd place with 51 points after 2A last night. He has 1+12=13 over his last nine games.
I grabbed Martin Erat in a few leagues this week due to his hot streak and the Preds favourable sked and as Hannibal would say, "I love it when a plan comes together" as he had two points against the CBJs last night and now has 3+6=9 over his last seven games.
Kyle Turris has back-to-back 2-point games and 4+5=9 & plus-9 over his last nine games.
Joffrey Lupul was dropped down to the 3rd line with Connolly & Kadri last night but still managed 3A.
This guy can't be stopped right now... two assists on six shots last night for John Tavares to run his point streak to 11 games where he has 6+13=19. He started the year with 16 pts in his first 22 games and now has 30 in his last 23.
Evgeni Nabokov stopped 40 of 41 to beat the Flyers last night. He has now won three in a row and has pulled his numbers up to a respectable 2.43 & .916. I have a life rule that I don't recommend Islanders goalies but will admit that Nabby hasn't been half-bad lately.
Alex Pietrangelo kept his streak alive with a late 3rd period GWG... it's up to eight games now (3+8=11 & 34 shots).
Jonas Gustavsson was about 150 seconds away from his third shutout in his last six games until he let a soft one from the side of the net by him.
Cause this is exactly what the CBJs need right now... Brett Lebda... signed a one-year deal.
The Panthers have placed Michal Repik on waivers.
Brandon Yip was claimed on waivers by the Predators, let's see if they give him a real opportunity.
Antero Niittymaki has been sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment.

Carl Hagelin
Hagelin got another goal last night after receiving a sweet feed from Gaborik. Do you guys think he’s worth the pick up?
sure, he’s seeing decent minutes with good linemates… go for it.

Hagelin or Jimmy Hayes?
2011-2012 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl: Vyechnaya Pamyat!
2011-2012 Colorado Avalanche: Chances are rapidly diminishing that this will not suck.
I’ve watched Hagelin since he came up, but only recently started to watch Hayes, if you need physicality Hayes is likely more your guy, though just from the couple games I have seen he looks to be more than that.
I have a hard time believing Hayes hockey sense is as good as Hagelin’s, but he has size, good hands and skating ability.
Hagelin has his coaches confidence already, and skating on line with Gaborik
Stepan is not a great playmaker though.
Hayes plays with a much more prolific offense though will likely not get as many minutes, this year though he is getting time on power play in front of the net.

I thought you were paying attention
I have been preaching the gospel of Carl for a month now :-)
seriously if you aren’t in a deep league he still doesn’t make a lot of sense until he gets some time on the power play, (more than the odd 10 seconds at the end) but he is going to be better than anyone (myself excluded) had previously predicted.

Halak
Is it just not worth mentioning his shutouts anymore?
Just thought I’d point out that while you mentioned :
“In fact, Halak hasn’t lost in regulation since Nov 22nd, he’s 9-0-3, 1.62 & .938 over his last 12 games”
you didn’t note that he’s only lost once in regulation since Hitch’s takeover Nov 8th
good game for Halak
but a terrible game for the Blues they should have won that game 10-0

that’s kinda what I was saying
they dominated everywhere but can’t finish
it’s annoying as hell.
