Sunday's Injury Updates - Toews, Briere, E.Kane...
Uh-oh... Jonathan Toews left last night's game with a UBI. The speculation is that it could be a hand injury. The team says he's just day-to-day.
Danny Briere left yesterday's game due to a concussion and so he's out indefinitely.
Jaromir Jagr also left yesterday's game, but luckily it's just a LBI for him. This is likely related to his nagging groin injury and lets hope that it only sidelines him a few games like it did the first few times this year it flared up.
Evander Kane is dealing with a concussion, he was complaining of headaches on Friday morning following Thursday's game and the Jets were quick with the diagnosis. He's out indefinitely but let us pray that he can shake it off quickly.
Ryan McDonagh could be out a bit after taking a hit from behind yesterday.
R.J. Umberger (concussion) was skating with the team yesterday and looks to be making progress in his recovery.
Returning to action from the injured list last night: Taylor Hall & Zach Bogosian.

Nikita Nikitin
who has played well for CBJ went skates first hard into the endboards
left the game and I will be surprised if he doesn’t miss significant time
possibly the rest of the season.
If his ankle is not broken he is very fortunate.

Toews
I didn’t see Blackhawks (watched Blues and Wings games)
Friday night vs Florida Toews took a slash to the left hand
if it is the same one, good scouting by Nashville probably worked on it some more.

Ryan Malone & Anton Babchuk
every time Malone starts playing well he gets dinged again.
left in the 1st last night all I can find is UBI.
2 straight games Babchuk hasn’t been in the lineup can’t find where he is injured
the fact that Hannan and Sarich are playing instead is a pretty good indication he isn’t 100%

not sure what is wrong with Babchuk but best not to be relying on him, he is just as likely to be a healthy scratch as he is to be injured.

whats up with Steen should i hold on to him said to return last week and still out blues doing good now should come back and only produce hopefully?
not clear on if he had a setback but the Blues are saying that he’s not ready yet. Hold on to him for a little longer and hope he can come back after the AS Break.

the way Hitch handle players coming back it is likely just a matter of game shape
Hitch doesn’t ease players back, they can either go 20 game minutes or they aren’t ready.
he is definitely worth holding until there is actual word of a setback though.
