Around SBN: In Crunch Time, Spurs Don't Change Their Game

Thursday's Daily Dosage - Desharnais, Hudler, Subban...

The little man has been coming up huge lately

Just one game last night and man, I think the Red Wings missed the memo about the AS Break not starting until today as they stunk up the joint last night...

Let's get the only highlight for the Wings out of the way... Jiri Hudler scored two goals and if you dissect his season in (almost) half then you see that he's really come on lately with 13+7=20 over his last 25 following a start where he had just 2+10=12 in his first 24 games.

Well there goes my plans for a sneak-attack trade... I've been noticing the fine production from David Desharnais this year and he has quietly assumed the #1C role in Montreal. His cover is surely blown now after 2+1=3 last night and 4+10=14 & plus-9 over his last 12 games. He is on pace for nearly 60 points in what is becoming a very nice breakout season.

Erik Cole enters the break on a high with three points last night and 2+7=9 & plus-8 over his last five games. This guy is have a fantastic season and I'm quite surprised as we haven't seen production like this out of him in the last five years.

Max Pacioretty joins Desharnais & Cole on the top line and after another strong game he has 5+2=7, plus-6, 13 PIMs & 21 shots over his last six games.

Tomas Kaberle with 2A last night and his production has doubled since he joined the Habs from Carolina (.65 vs.31 ppg).

P.K. Subban was benched for the 2nd period and finished with a season low 14 minutes of ice-time. There is a lot of talk about him lately, so now is the time to buy low as this guy is a fantasy stud. He's on pace for 32 points this year which is down from the 38 he had last year but still isn't too shabby and that's essentially due to the fact that his PPPs have dropped from 18 last year to just five so far this year. I don't think it is entirely his fault that the Habs PP has gone from 7th in the league last year to 30th this season, so that can only get better. Oh, and he's also on pace for close to 100 PIMs & 200+ shots, so that's a nice bonus.

Rene Bourque with goals in back-to-back games after starting his Habs career with nothing in his first three.

The Sharks have placed Antero Niittymaki on waivers, let's wait and see if anyone takes the bait before we discuss his chances.

The Leafs gave John-Michael Liles a four-year extension yesterday, seems like bad timing for a guy who is 31 and currently out with his second concussion in the last 12 months... but what do I know?

You can go ahead and assume that any guys that were recently called up from the AHL are heading back down to get in some game action while the NHL goes dark... that includes: Eric Tangradi, Cody Eakin, Magnus Paajarvi, Brandon Pirri & Matt Fraser.
