It's all jokes and fake moustaches until someone blows a groin
Jaromir Jagr re-aggravated a leg injury during the Winter Classic yesterday and so he just enjoyed the rest of the game as a spectator. The team says that he's day-to-day and shouldn't be out long.
Uh-oh... Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hit a rut in the ice and suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury as he crashed into the boards. No word on the severity. Shanahan is surely reviewing the tape to decide how long to suspend the rut.
Jeff Skinner (concussion) was back at practice yesterday for the first time in about a month.
Alexander Semin has a cut on his arm that could keep him out of tonight's game... just when he started to roll.
It took a week for the Kings to figure out that Simon Gagne has a concussion... or at least a week for them to admit it.
It didn't take them long to determine that Slava Voynov has a UBI and couldn't play last night.
Tom Gilbert suffered a knee injury last night on a rough ride into the boards administered by Daniel Carcillo. To prove that there is a god, Carcillo also banged up his knee on the play and had to leave the game.
Sergei Gonchar was supposed to play last night after being held out of Saturday's game with a head injury but then he couldn't go... so for the 693rd time this year, a team has underestimated the severity of a head injury.
Mike Green (groin) is close to returning, might even be tonight.
Mike Smith (groin) has been practicing with the Coyotes and should return shortly.
Marc Staal made a shock season debut in the Winter Classic yesterday after recovering from a concussion suffered last season.
Chris Higgins (infection) also returned but he only missed three games.
