Tuesday's Daily Dosage - AHL ASG, Varlamov, Latendresse...
The AHL All-Star game went last night and while I didn't get a chance to see it, I have it on tape and will check it out later. The boxscore tells me that a guy I was interested in seeing, Cory Conacher, did well with 2+1=3 and also two other vertically-challenged players, Mats Zuccarello & Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, each had 1+2=3. Take from that whatever you wish. I'll report back at what I see when I get a chance to view the tape.
The NHL kicks it back into gear tonight... your notable starting goalies are Cory Schneider, who spares Luongo from starting against one of his bogey teams (the Blackhawks), Devan Dubnyk, who has started four of the last six for Edmonton and Semyon Varlamov, who hasn't started any of the past four for the Avs.
The Hurricanes gave Tim Gleason a four-year extension... good for him. You shouldn't take that as an endorsement of his fantasy abilities, unless hits & blocks are overweighted in your league.
The Devils were apparently impressed enough with Steve Bernier and his 3+3=6 in 17 games for Albany that they've signed him to a two-way deal (he was playing on an AHL deal previously).
Minor deal between Calgary & Winnipeg yesterday as Akim Aliu goes to the Flames and John Negrin goes the other way. Both were well-thought-of prospects coming out of Junior but neither has shown very much at all in the minors.
The following notables are coming back up from the AHL following the AS Break: David Savard, Matt Taormina, Jacob Josefson, Cody Eakin, Rhett Rakhshani & Kevin Poulin. Not sure why Poulin is up, either Nabokov or Montoya must be hurting.
Sidney Crosby skated before practice with the Penguins conditioning coach yesterday. Not sure if this is progress anymore.
A few more injury notes here:
Adam Henrique (groin) is out tonight.
Guillaume Latendresse (concussion) is symptom free and was back at practice yesterday.
Jonathan Toews (wrist) should return tonight and Dustin Byfuglien (knee) will likely return this week.

notable starting goalies are Cory Schneider
Josh Harding another “backup” starting the first game out of the All Star Break at home vs Nashville
Could they be saying goodbye to the their former home?
Seems Tyler Ennis after missing his second 17 game stint this season is also set to return
Ryan Malone thought to be back in the lineup tonight will not.
