Thursday's Daily Dosage - Eller, Clarkson, Zetterberg...

It was The Lars Eller Show in Montreal last night as he went for the Golden Sombrero with four goals along with an assist, plus-4 & five shots. He only had four goals on the season coming in, only saw six seconds of PP time and was lining up with Kostitsyn & Moen on the 3rd line, so this seems more like a stars aligning night than a trend here. Having said that, I still like this kid long-term and think he needs more ice-time with better players, so maybe this helps him get more opportunities. Check out the video below of his fourth goal which came on a penalty shot.

David Clarkson with five shots last night and he connected on the PP for his fourth goal in his last five games. He has become a staple on PP1 lately.

Forgive me for not paying attention to the Islanders but Kyle Okposo has joined Tavares & Moulson on the top line lately and has points in three straight games (1+2=3). P.A. Parenteau doesn't seem too fussed about the demotion as he has 1+5=6 over his last five games but three of those points have come on the PP as he held his spot on the top unit.

This came up as part of some trades talks, another GM said that Henrik Zetterberg is having a crappy season... well it is true that he had a crappy start but since Nov 20th he is top 10 in the league in scoring with 5+17=22 in 21 games. Also in the top 10 since that arbitrary date: Kesler (9th), Iginla (6th) & Eberle (4th).

Star-divide

This also came from some research into trade targets, Marcus Johansson has been heating up lately with 1+6=7 over his last nine games. He's on pace for a pretty solid 48 points.

David Krejci elongated his point streak to six games (3+5=8) with another two points last night.

Our boy Logan Couture is feeling rambunctious lately as he has put 36 shots on net over his last nine games and, not surprisingly, has 5+4=9 over that span as well.

Roberto Luongo with a 28 save shutout of the Wild last night and he improves to 10-2-2, 1.76 & .940 in 14 games since December 4th.

Another two points for Blake Wheeler to extend his point streak to six games (4+5=9).

Not sure if Ducks GM Bob Murray is just blowing smoke but he says everyone is available... whether anyone is willing to meet his price for some of his younger talent is another question as recall that he made Bobby Ryan "available" earlier in the year but didn't trade him. The struggling Ryan Getzlaf will surely (e5) see his name thrown in to every made-up deal as after last night's game he has no points & a minus-7 over his last six games.

Rene Bourque (five games) and Daniel Carcillo (seven games) have been struck with the Shanahammer and will be sitting out a while.

The daily NHL-AHL swap meet has sent Brenden Dillon, Zac Dalpe, Greg Nemisz & Louis Leblanc to the A for Dylan Olsen & Jacob Markstrom, who head for The Show.

Here is Lars Eller's 4th goal, I'd say the kid knew he was playing with house money at this point...

MaxPac

I’m considering dropping MaxPac, especially after his 0 points last night in a 7 goal effort. He’s really disappointed me this season.

tough to rely on anyone on this Montreal team for consistency

they are just not very good
that said Max was pretty good especially considering where he was drafted in most leagues (avg #156 Yahoo!)
25 points and a plus-3 thru 30 games
it’s only the last 6 games that he’s done little to warrant a roster spot

disappointed?… really? he’s on pace for 55 points & 270 shots. Sure he’s slowed down lately but that’s some nice production.

Yeah, I thought he’d be scoring more goals. Shots are worthless in most of my leagues.

I think he’s just in a slump with the rest of the team (save for Eller). He’s talented with a nice shot. I’m hanging onto him for the whole season unless he just falls off the face of the Earth.
