Monday's Daily Dosage - Karlsson, Bryzgalov, Filppula...

Two more points and a plus-5 from Erik Karlsson last night and this kid is feeling it right now with seven multi-point games in his last 11 outings. He has 4+11=15, plus-14 & 48 shots during that stretch. Having him in your lineup is like starting an extra forward... and a damn good one.

Another clunker from Ilya Bryzgalov as he gave up five goals on 37 shots to the Sens. He has now given up 4+ goals in five of his last seven starts...yikes! I'm firmly on board the Bobrovsky boat right now, worth taking a chance that the kid steals the job and runs with it.

Valtteri Filppula with two more points last night to give him 4+5=9 over his last seven games. He's shooting at 21.2% right now, that's a pretty big jump from his career 12.2% (prior to this season) and reeks of unsustainability.

The secret to Filppula's success, Henrik Zetterberg, had 2A last night to give him 8A during a four game streak. He has a very healthy 6+19=25 over his last 23 games with is masked by his slow start to the season (3+4=7 in his first 18 games). You might be able to get him at a discount.

Star-divide

Nice line from Filip Kuba with the GWG, plus-4, four shots & four blocks last night. He's a plus-10 over his last 10 games and plus-13 for the season.

Finnish rookie Iiro Tarkki was called up from the AHL yesterday and relieved the injured Jonas Hiller last night. He gave up two goals on seven shots but was credited with the win. He could end up seeing some decent action with both Hiller & Ellis on the shelf. He's had some nice seasons in Finland and was sporting 2.85 & .916 numbers in the AHL this year, so he's got some talent.

Corey Perry snapped a bit of a goal scoring malaise (just three in his prior 12 games) with a hat-trick last night. He has 4+2=6 in three games so he's either motivated to stay in Anaheim or wants to get out really badly.

Bobby Ryan with a pair of helpers last night to continue his run where he has 5+3=8 over his last six games.

It's nothing special but with the way the season is going for Rick Nash, he'll gladly take 5+3=8 over his last 10 games.

Steve Mason was pulled after giving up four goals on 16 shots. In case you were thinking, "That guy has to get better eventually", you'll be saddened to hear that he's given up 4+ goals in four of his eight games since returning from his concussion on Dec 13th.

Saku Koivu with 1+2=3 last night to give him 1+5=6 in the four games since returning from a LBI.

Erik Condra has been playing up on L2 with Turris & Alfredsson and has 1+4=5 & plus-7 over his last five games. Condra had a nice college career and did OK in the AHL but I don't think he has high-end upside.

Promoted from the AHL: Kyle Palmieri, Tomas Kubalik & Anders Lindback.

Demoted to the AHL: Gustav Nyquist, Patrick O`Sullivan & Jeremy Smith.

Or the next 9, depending on your point of view.

2011-2012 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl: Vyechnaya Pamyat!
2011-2012 Colorado Avalanche: Chances are rapidly diminishing that this will not suck.

hahahaha.
i didn’t like that signing to begin with—largely b/c of the length.

I’m pretty sure everybody other than the Flyers knew they would be regretting it eventually. Probably didn’t think it would be this soon though.

Was the Flyers scouts satellite feed not working during the playoffs last spring… dude looked awful, I wouldn’t have signed him if you paid me $51 million.
