Sunday's Daily Dosage - M.Smith, Simmonds, Kubina...
Mike Smith was 30/31 last night and has given up a total of seven goals during a seven game winning streak.
28 save shutout for Miikka Kiprusoff last night and he hasn't suffered a regulation loss over his last seven games (5-0-2) and hasn't given up more than three goals in a game over his last 18.
Nothing can slow Wayne Simmonds down lately as he scored again yesterday and has 8+2=10, 20 PIMs & 33 shots over his last nine games. It looks like he could approach 30 goals, 100 PIMs & 200 shots this year.
The Flyers pulled off another trade for a bulky dman as they moved a few picks to Tampa for Pavel Kubina. I'm a fan of Kubina as he's been a solid all-around fantasy option over the years but has been stuck in a defensive role with the Lightning, so this could be a positive move for him but I'm not sure that Philly really has plans to use him any differently, maybe he sees some PP2 time but I'm not counting on much.
It was only a win over the CBJs but that's now two in a row for Corey Crawford.
The Sedin bros had gone three games with no points so a four-spot each last night will certainly lift their spirits.
Matt Cooke with a nice outing with 2+1=3, SHG, plus-2 & four shots yesterday. He's a 30-something point guy who may be useful in some leagues due to his PIMs. Only problem this year is that his PIMs have evaporated as he only has 20 so far... not going to get it done Cookie.
Mike Cammalleri with the GWG last night and he has 3+1=4, plus-3 & 14 shots during a four game point streak.
Evgeni Nabokov is sick so of course the Islanders called up Kevin Poulin and started him over Al Montoya yesterday. Poulin stopped 33 of 36 for his second win of the season (both over Carolina).
This is ridiculous... Brian Elliott only had to stop 13 shots(!) to record his sixth shutout of the season over Minny yesterday.
Things ain't getting any easier for Steve Mason as he was pulled after allowing four goals on 20 shots yesterday and has given up 4+ goals in six of his last nine outings.
Andy McDonald scored on the PP yesterday and now has goals in back-to-back games.
Alex Pietrangelo has six PPPs and 2+7=9 during a crazy stretch of five games. He has quietly moved up to sixth among dmen in scoring.
A robust stat-line for Kevin Shattenkirk yesterday with 2A, plus-2, four PIMs & three shots... did you know this guy is seventh in the league with a plus-24 right now?
On the downtown bus to the AHL: Trent Hunter, Colby Robak & Erik Gustafsson.
Heading uptown to the NHL: Ben Bishop & Michael Stone.

Bryz
Ilya Bryzgalov said after the game that he’s trying to find the peace in his soul to play in that city. That is just a bad situation that may only get worse. Maybe the Flyers can do what the Rangers did with Wade Redden and just banish Bryz to the AHL with many high salaried years remaining on his contract.
I remember about a month ago I was offered Mike Smith for Bryz in a keeper league (I was already out of it even back then). I posted on FHS and basically every person said I shouldn’t do it. At this point I wish I would have.
