Moral Dilemna
Ok, so some of you already weighed in on my trade offer. I was offered, Giroux for Elliott and Eberle. As usual the guys at the top aren't happy about the trade. We do have a voting process but 6 out of 10 teams are required to over-turn and some people don't vote so it wil probably stick. Part of me thinks the trade is fair and square, especially since the guy screaming loudest was trying to trade for the same guy I was. But part of me thinks maybe I should reverse it. The guy I made the trade with is dead last and basically neglects his team every year. Some people (part of me included) think this guy has no business in making the trade. It is highlighted by the fact that he traded for Elliott and he is close to maxing out in goalie games and I don't even think he knows it. What do others think. I think I can win without the trade. Should I take the moral high ground?

Being that he offered it, I wouldn’t worry too much about the morality. It’s not really that unfair. People aren’t giving Elliott any respect even though he’s basically top 3 in sv% and gaa.

I don’t think it’s that bad of a trade that anyone should complain about it… it sounds like the other GM has some issues but that’s not your problem, especially since he offered it to you.

I for one like Eberle more than Giroux
that might be my East coast bias bias showing though
the fact that he is in Philly does nothing to entice me to actually watch him play.

Similar issue...
I went through a similar issue a few years ago and I came to this conclusion : If the guy does not do a bad trade with you, he will with someone else.
This being said, I don’t think the trade is that bad. I don’t know the format and settings of your league but in the league I play, Giroux would surely worth more than this.
Finally, if you want to avoid moral dilemna, I think the best way for you to deal with your current trading partner is to make sure the deal is good for both of you.
ciao
You’re all adults (I assume) and everybody had equal opportunity to trade with him. Let ’er stand.
Hopefully the embarrassment of other owner essentially calling him an idiot will get him a bit more interested next year.

I agree with the part of your post that said he shouldn’t be allowed to make trades; He’s obviously not taking this stuff seriously. I don’t feel a player like that should be allowed to effect everyone else’s teams adversely… People just poaching his players off kinda ruins it for me… I think I WOULD do the deal but post something league wide and let everyone say they’re peace and take it from there. You’re a good guy for even considering the fairness in the trade. Kudos to you!
